Corporate Accounting II - Liquidation of companies (Problem 3)
Liquidation of company means the legal procedure by which all the activities of the company comes to an end. In this chapter liquidators final statement of account is prepared. The final statement is just like a cash book. ( receipt and payment column)
liquidators remuneration is calculated on the percentage of all assets realised and payment made to unsecured creditors.
This video explains an additional problem relating to calculation of debenture interest.
Working Note :-
Assets Realised = Surplus +stock +p/m+ other current assets
ie 100000+100000+100000+100000=₹400000
Since the company is insolvent interest on debentures has been paid only upto the date of commencement of Winding up. ie 31st March
2017
