I think many of them are great actors and actresses. She outdid herself in this one. Leanne has always done the most dramatic scenes with such conviction and vigour.

As a mother I cannot imagine the paralysing pain of having to say goodbye to my baby boy. This was very well done and so raw. Jane is such a talented actress and deserves every recognition and award coming her way xx

Jane Danson, Simon Gregson and Coronation Street should get awards for their performances. When they were singing to Oliver it really got me in the heart. My heart goes out to parents going through this in reality

Leanne is a wonderful actor she looks like a real suffering mother, all them are.

So heartbreaking how they did a couple of shots of Oliver, they made this storyline so realistic

I cried my eyes out watching this. Jane did an incredible job depicting this heart wrenching scene of a mother losing her losing her son.

This really broke my heart. RIP Oliver from a Corrie fan from the USA

This is absolutely heartbreaking for every family to lose a child from any medical conditions to die infront of you

Mum brought me here, just went downstairs too find her balling out crying and gave her a hug while she told me what happened and figured I’d give it a watch... not sure their names but massive respect and props too the actors here, absolutely phenomenal

Leanne has played an amazing part, I’ll eat my hat if she doesn’t win an award at the soap awards. Heartbreaking😢

Life is so cruel, so so sad tonight. I really feel for Leanne and Steve for their loss. I’m actually crying writing this message, such powerful acting throughout the storyline

I'm sorry for your loss, but can we stop saying "women" because it reiterates the idea that a woman purpose in life is to have kids. Lets start saying "parent" instead

Outstanding performances from Jane and Simon. With the guidelines of covid 19 in the way it makes it even heartbreaking that none of actors can hug each other because they are social distancing. But coronation street makes their storylines feel more real life and works more better than eastenders. No parents should ever bury their child

This whole storyline was really, really well done but eastenders make their storylines far more real. Just take a look at how they’ve coped with the restrictions. Far better than any soap. The characters touch, are close together, in the same room, aren’t stood apart, they hold hands, they kiss, they touch, they punch, they grab, they hug etc. etc. and the acting is a lot better than the majority of the corrie cast. It’s almost as if there’s no restrictions at all, which is nice to see as its jarring seeing everyone stand apart in triangles and awkwardly not touch. I mean remember that scene with Sarah when Gary got hit by the car and she couldn’t crawl over to him she was just there slapping the floor crying 🤣 eastenders would have handled that a lot better

The acting in this is absolutely incredible, If Jane Danson and Simon Gregson don't win awards for this then there's something seriously wrong, congratulations to everyone involved in this harrowing storyline you are all fantastic Especially the little boy playing Oliver

Jesus.. Heard them talking on the radio about it. Just watched it and absolutely amazing acting. Jane Danson deserves an award for that.

Jane acted her socks off, hope she receives some awards and doesn’t require counselling. Leanne’s short monologue out on the Street was similar to Gail’s when Aidan died. Considering Simon was chosen from auditions at his school, back in ‘89, together with Nick Cochrane, to play Steve, over the years he has also developed into a very good actor, tackling the depression storyline a few years back alongside Steve’s usual comic and dramatic scenes. Harrowing to watch of course, but then Corrie does tragedy so well, and especially with the Covid restrictions affecting filming techniques currently. Simon looks to be piling on the pounds a bit though!

Rest in paradise 🌅 Oliver😇 🙏💙 Feel sad for leanne but heartbroken 💔 for steve loosing baby ruirai 🤱😭 and then to lose baby Oliver 3 years later its so cruel, Simon and Jane what amazing acting 🎭throughout this hard hitting storyline 👌they both deserve some kind of award for the hard work they put into this 🤧💯 👏 ❤️

Well ITV and Coronation Street have done an absolute fantastic job with this storyline from start to finish - highlighting how painful it is for a mother to go to great lengths to save their little boy who has Mitochondrial disease. Well done to all, basically 👍 - very powerful scenes I think!

Funnily enough, my grandfathers name was Oliver, and my middle name is Oliver..

This was heartbreaking, it just reminds me of when Michelle’s son died and she found out Steve was Oliver’s dad and she said to Leanne why couldn’t it of been your baby that died and now look 💔💔 I tell you this tho they are two of the best actors I have ever seen, amazing but also heartbreaking 💔💖 rip little Oliver 💔🥺

Yeah Steve lost ruairi when he was born way too early from his previous relationship and now he’s lost Oliver due to a mysterious condition which he can’t breath on his own that’s heartbreaking for Steve Macdonald

Even Nick and Tracy (for once not being her usual nasty vicious self) were mourning little Oliver.

Absolutely heartbreaking, Jane Danson has been amazing and Leanne is one of Corrie's greatest characters

All the actors have done well in this storyline Ben price and Kate ford have done well as the partners of Steven and Leanne showing so much support

This is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen on Corrie x

I’m so sorry to hear that. I dread the day Queen Elizabeth dies and I’ve been in grief for a few weeks while she’s really ill

Very sad episode all actors did well. Hope to see the twins who played Oliver in other shows they are good little actors

So sorry for your loss, I lost only one family member 6 years ago my Nana. Then 6 years later the Queen dies

This was too much for me . I was in floods of tears. I sobbed my heart out. I have two sons and to think of either of them going before and watching Jane Dawson alias leanne battersby her acting has been superb. But it was still too much for me.

It is really sad when a child dies because they have only just started on life.😪

@@crystalclarke6692 he actually was ill 7 years ago because he had a virus and it first we thought it was croup but it was later discovered as something else and even though he was alright we were all very concerned at the time

This was a beautiful storyline acted out so well. Awards incoming. Written out so well just unfortunate it ended how it did

As much as I disagree with this storyline for being sadistic and even satanic, I do recognize the actors (especially Jane Danson who plays Leanne) treated it with dignity and portrayed it well.

Same way how Quentin Tarantino will use spurious antiracism issues in his movies so he has a moral loophole to act out his violent fantasies. The episode credits here should have ended in complete silence similar to how Mike Baldwin died. Because this episode was just far important and too serious to ever be like the others.

A piece of me broke watching this 😢💔

Eventhough I have not been watching Corrie since Sinead died this is more upseting than when Sinead or evening Hailey died,whenever a child dies it is so heart wrenching.

Nearly two years later and this still makes me cry no I’m not a parent I’m 18 years old but this scene had me crying no parent should ever have to go through losing a child so young (I’m sorry everyone for getting upset over this scene)
