Coronation Street: Minnie Caldwell Remembered - A Tribute to Margot Bryant.
Documentary from 1988 about the lovely Margot Bryant. I had to cut out the Victoria Wood segment to avoid copyright.

Beautifully done. A loving testimonial from some ‘Corrie’ cast friends for Margot.
What a great actress she was..They don't make them like her anymore...❤
Lynne Carol was spot on - those three could talk about anything and be brilliantly funny. Fantastic programme, thank you.
Margo was brilliant .
I loved this lady...wounderfull actress.
Gary Glitter and I met her and spent some time with her in the Grand Hotel, Scarborough in '72 or perhaps '73!! A lovely, gentle soul enjoying her little holiday! A sweet memory.
I wish there was a book about Margot Bryant. Such a character!
Brilliant thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed it
OMGOODNESS , It's like listening to my nan and mum. aunty etc I miss them all so much as lot;s of love but no crap ,
This is a terrific rarity - I've never seen interviews with Eileen Derbyshire and Lynne Carol before. Thank you very much for a great unseen upload.

There is a photo of Lynne Carol (Martha Longhurst) on the Internet out of her Martha costume, at the time she played Martha and looking nothing like her character, lovely styled hair and elegantly dressed in a beautiful dress with a small neckless, very beautiful looking actress, another photo appears in an out of print book called 'The Real Coronation Street', again a beautiful photo, you can clearly see how young she really was, Lynne Carol's Martha was dressed by the actress herself, the rain coat, beret and spectacles all came from Lynne Carol's own theatrical box, the spectacles had no lenses in them, she was a very clever actress to play that part over 20 years older than her real age.

Eileen Derbyshire is a very private person, she doesn't take part I most publicity her costar do...only time I saw out of character before this was when she provided one of the intros to some anniversary vhs decades back🎩
I absolutely love watching this with my nan, Minnie Caldwell, Ena Sharples and then Elsie Tanner were fantastic characters.

The comments made by both Lynne Carol & Doris Speed imply that Margot Bryant was the polar opposite of sweet and simple Minnie Caldwell and she wasn't above cutting people down and copping an attitude.
Only the first to die got a truelly dramatic exit of the trio:both the other 2 got low key exits (Minnie in a brief exchange inn corner shop...admittedly VC was expected to return, but was too ill)...yes,Lynne got the only good exit of the 3🎩
When corrie was brilliant not like the depressing rubbish now
Apparently the actress who played Minnie swore like drunken docker.
Margo Bryant was from Hull and rumoured to be a lesbian.

Sonny Jim, went on to do randell and hopkirk
Doris speed didn't get along very well with her as Doris was a very liberal person and Margot was a very conservative person. They were very different people in real life to their characters.
