My son got a stripped oil pan drain plug from a cheap oil change chain and I believed the fix may be temporary; therefore, I start looking into the options on how to fix it when the car is available.
1) Change the whole oil pan ($25)
2) Oil Pan Gasket ($13)
or fix the oil plug.
3) Use a longer oil drain plug provided there are still good threads left on the drain pan hole. ($10-$15)
4) Use a piggy bag drain plug ($25)
5) Use a Single Oversize (S. O.) drain plug ($5-$10)
or
6) Get estimate on auto shop on "tap" the drain hole (make it bigger) and create new thread and then use a bigger size oil drain plug if it is difficult and expensive to replace the whole oil drain pan.
Also, you should research on how easy to remove your oil pan and then determine your options.
If it is easy, you can drop the pan and put it back after you finished your oil changes.

Hello Cheap Daddy, did you P0741 code ever come back after cleaning the solenoid connectors? I saw your video from 2 years ago and am wondering if your code ever came back. My check engine light comes on but then turns off and on again, after a few days of driving.

Hi, JZ the P0741 did not come back and the car even pass smog in California (no check engine light). If you able to unplug that connection, please make sure all the contact is clean (not corroded) (may need slightly sand all the contact for better conduction) and clean it good and then when you put that back, it should have the "click" sound which means it is two connection is tight as designed or the it is locked up. I suspect the issue is the switch connection wire contact or switch itself is loose; however, based on internet, P0741 can be transmission is dirty and the solenoid itself may be bad (there is a small hole on it and it can be slightly clogged). If you go to that P0741 video description, it has lot of details on it such as part number on solenoid...etc Good luck, please let me know how it goes. Thank you for your comment and thank you so much for watching.
