A local pub near me stocks St Austell Ales. A very lovely drink. A steam beer history.

We have often meant to do this walk but never quite got round to it. We will make the effort this year when we are there in September.

Really enjoyed this walk and the video was as entertaining, really interesting and fabulously put together as ever! BUT what's this... coffee without cake and pint without pasty? A doughnut was a poor substitute! Curious as to whether the sea ever breaches Loe Bar? Can't wait for the next walk and perhaps a pasty review...

Love your comment, very funny! We were a bit late getting to Porthleven, the pasties were sold out! All they had left was doughnuts. The sea does not breach Loe bar as far as we know. There have been several shipwrecks there over the years, worth a Google search for old photos of the SS Tripolitania; she was beached for nearly a year in 1912. I've spoken to Andrew, he says Portreath Pasties are as good any where, but he is willing to confirm that by sampling as many others as possible.....watch this space!

The Google search for SS Tripolitania revealed some interesting reading - thank you for the suggestion. John is hoping that there is no shortage of pasties when we visit Cornwall in few weeks! We salute Andrew in his selfless endeavours! We are looking forward to your next walk.
