Its a crime that Cornelius Bumpus arent among the names, the brothers of the Doobie Brothers Band, being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.......such a talent......such a great soul......he gave soo much in versatility and lifted the Doobie Brothers to another level.....shame on you Rock n Roll Hall of Fame......RIP Cornelius.....we love you....

RIP Mr Bumpus - what a superb vocal timbre and delivery and those sax licks, so damn tasty ALWAYS! Will never be forgotten, a giant of the genre and a truly unique voice. So lucky to have these recordings. Thanks for sharing

I'm from Perú and when the dobbie's where rockin the whole world I was just 4 years old. And for me is wonderful find these videos and discover their great music and obviously the great Cornelius Bumpus!

The world lost Cornelius far to early! Outstanding man! Incredible musician and fantastic singing voice. I was devastated when I heard about his death and the circumstances behind it. There are not enough concerts available of The Doobie Brothers and Cornelius as a solo artist. It is time something was done about this.

The last time I saw Cornelius was at the Calaveras County Frog jump and air show in 1980. There was a lot of doobies there :) Cornelius brought a lot of soul to the group along with Tiran. Cornelius has 2 great records on The old Santa Cruz label Broadbeach records. They are collectors items now. Maybe they will post them on Apple Music some day hint hint… You are remembered Cornelius. You are loved….Steve in Fremont. Bay Area.

Did CG not play live with Janis Joplin at some point? There was a very accomplished sax player with JJ, a black guy, very reminiscent of this.

+DW4Ever91 Hey, these WERE the Doobies from 1972. The band members changed, left to join other groups, were ill and replaced over the years and sweet Cornelius died as did others before and after him. He will live forever in his music.

This was from 1989. It was during a Doobie Brothers tour which is why Tom Johnston is there and Michael McDonald is not.
