Boza Edwards was a great warrior, I saw many of his fights in the 80's. He never gave you a bad fight.

It's a shame that when you are in the " good ol' days" you don't know it. Loved Boza! Brave to a fault, talented, and fought them all. Arguello, Chacon, Navarette, Limon, Camacho, Ramirez. The list goes on. He didn't win them all but no one that ever took him lightly had an easy time. He said he would fight anyone, and meant it. I miss those days and I miss Boza!

I loved Boza-Edwards when I was growing up. He had so much talent but he would give away those advantages in talent he had to slug it out. How can you not have loved him!!!

You're right in a sense that mentally he didn't know how to box. But, he was capable of it style wise

Joe Darcy He had the reach but he was just not a great mover . He wasn't Azumah Nelson by any means. Some boxers just like bending their arms and planting their feet .

You said. NEVER in a bad fight. I remember seeing this as a kid, and there was a great clip of Brown sucking wind when Boza was finishing him off. This fight demonstrates another of Boza strengths: one-punch power in BOTH hands. Essentially, the fight was over when Boza landed the right hook that dropped Brown, and then he REALLY teed off when Brown got up. His fight against Melvin Paul was a great demonstration of his left-hand power.

That's great. Brown was an action fighter. I think Brown didn't realize after he was knocked down he wouldn't get a standing 8 ct. In England, at the time of this fight, they had a stupid rule that they didn't finish the count after a fighter got up from a knockdown. In the U.S, they gave the fighter the full count after he got up. Here, Brown got up immediately and the ref. just wiped off his gloves and let Boza tear right in to him. Brown should have gotten up at 8 or 9 to clear his head. I think Boza still would have won, but that rule and Brown's seeming to not to remember it, shortened the fight. Do you have his fight against Tyrone Crawley. About sixth months after the Boza loss, Brown lost a close decision to Crawley. I heard it was a great fight but have never seen it. If I remember correctly, ESPN cut a way from it to show the college baseball world series so the full fight might not be on tape.

Very cool! You can be proud of what he did. Loved, win or lose, to watch him fight. Inside the ring he was a man!
