Corippo TICINO - The SMALLEST VILLAGE of Switzerland - Wonderful Verzasca Valley - [Travel Guide]
DjemoGraphic present the less known parts of the Verzasca Valley in Ticino, Switzerland. Although quite famous, the Verzasca Valley mainly attracts visitors to the Dam, where James Bond 007 Goldeneye was shot and to the serene creek at Lavertezzo. The latter part has often been described as the Maldives of Switerzland. However, unnoticed, up on the hill, stands the humble village of CORIPPO. This village remains up to this day the smallest municipality of Switzerland and only has 13 residents left. In this video, you will get to know more about this wonderful village called Corippo and learn how to appreciate the humbleness and serenity of this place.
This Valle Verzasca Travel Guide is Episdode 1 out of 2. There will be another video about the upper end of this valley.
Enjoy the beautiful Verzasca valley in Ticino and Corippo, the smallest village of Switzerland. You surely won't regret your visit there!

Could you imagine LIVING up there?
Im from Nepal living in New Zealand for the past 23 years. Verzasca is so beautifully preserved, I hope me and my wife can visit it someday. I felt like I was walking through the narrow alleys of the village. Thank you for this video.

As always an amazing video. This time Jean-Marc with a sweet company of Nik and Julia in Corippo. Thank you and your charming friends. I hope I will get such a private trip when I will be back in Switzerland. Hard to believe that such a beautiful village is facing any problems to be populated. This place looks like a dream. This traditional stone houses can’t be real... The bridge you are standing on and under is amazing. I know that this doesn’t really fit your convention but maybe you could prepare something about bridges in general? They can be an amazing topic themselves. But in this way you couldn’t present a place or a country in the way you are doing but this idea just came to mine mind. But this is my, I simply love bridges...

Hi Daniel. Thank you so much :) I know the village is so beautiful. But people prefer having a holiday house here instead of living. Despite you are actually only 20 min from Locarno. The idea about bridges is great! I will definitely thing about it :)

Funny, I just went to Soglio 2 weeks ago. It's a perfect hidden gem and VERY Swiss. Val Bavona is very cool too. Did you do the Passo della Spluga oder did you re-enter Ticino via the passage of Gandria?

@@DjemoGraphic we skipped the Splügen Pass and drove through the Italian lakes, after Soglio we had a blast in Maloja and Julien Pass. That day was just astonishing for anyone who likes road trips. Everyone talks about Furka Pass (which we also did, and it's worth the fame) but these two are beautiful as well and for Wes Anderson movie fans, the Posthotel Löwen is worth a stop and a future video. One of those Instagramable spots which are not yet widely known...
Stunning indeed ♥♥♥

Thanks for this wonderfully made travel guide. I bumped into your site while preparing for my trip to Ticino. So I followed your footsteps by going to Val Verzasca (Lavertezzo) and Corippo. I missed though the Dam (of the Goldeneye fame ) due to time constraints. This month I visited Morcote (as you suggested), Locarno and Monte Tamaro. Don't you think Monte Tamaro, Monte Bre or Grandia are worth filming for your video guide series? Greetings from a Pinoy guy based in Winterthur!

Hi. Thanks a lot for your great feedback. I had limited time traveling around Ticino for filming, thus Monta Tamaro and Locarno could not fit into my schedule. I have not been there yet but I will visit them some time. I stayed at Muralto for getting around easier but did not explore the city of Locarno. Greetings from Zurich to Winterthur. Hi Alya. Thank you for your comment. Happy to hear that you liked it. My Sabahan friend who came here says that Ticino has similarities with Sabah. What would you say?
3:00 so what you're saying is it will become a ghost town in about 10-15 years as the residents die off.
@DjemoGraphic
Жыл бұрын
It won't become a ghost town because they are converting the village into a hotel, 1 house is one "villa" to stay at. The rest is already owned by people who use the houses for holidays.
Corippo is haven and paradise, too...
How can a palm tree be thriving in the alps at 7000 feet on the same latitude as Duluth, Minnesota?

I know a lot of people will be willing to live there because they are homeless and desperate. If only the homeless in new york will be allowed there or the migrants etc it will not become abandoned

Hi. I dont think that would change the situation of the village, if then just temporarily. Around 10% of Switzerland's population are refugees or have a refugee background. None of them live up in Corippo, furthermore, many of the houses are used by people for holidays.
