Corgi Presents: 1:72 Avro Vulcan B2 XH558
Ғылым және технология
After the disbanding of the last Vulcan squadron in 1984 and the subsequent grounding of the Vulcan Display Flight in 1992, the skies over England were deprived of the unique sight and sound of the Avro Vulcan.
This was rectified in October 2007 when after years of hard work the ‘Vulcan to the Sky Trust’ succeeded in having a Vulcan grace UK skies once more. Various CAA approvals had to be sought and many observers thought that it would never happen but, thanks to tireless fund raising and countless man hours of hard work by the team, XH558 took to the air once more. This was the same aircraft that had been grounded in 1992, having spent the time in-between performing taxi runs and being meticulously looked after, in preparation for returning to its proper place, in the air.

Was given this *huge* XH558 this weekend as surprise gift and was thrilled (naturally) - what a fantastic model! It's sitting in my office at home now watching over the rest of my classic collection (various Lightnings etc. ). Felt like a kid again toying around with this gigantic model and looking at it from different angles. Well done Corgi and all the best to the "Vulcan to the Sky Trust" - keep this kite flying!
Great model great credit to the Corgi team . British modeling at its finest .would love them to do a B747 in various British Airways liverys used over the years .
Looks fantastic ... hope enough are produced for the likely demand

Jason Sturgess Was at the RIAT airshow this year and I got talking to a fella that got one half price whilst there at one of the stalls, lucky sod I thought to myself. I bought mine for a high price but it is indeed a much sought after collectible piece of gear :)

Hey Corgi, please make/produce a Saab Gripen JAS39 A, B, or C or the NG 1/72 diecast model. Any one would be nice. Just make one!

Now that would be cool!
That green camouflage looks a bit light in shade to me . If you can't afford this . you can always get the Airfix kit for £29

OF course you might have used a very bright light to photograph the model ; which would have the effect of making the paint look lighter ; than it actually is .
Are the landing gear rubber
@CorgiDieCast

The landing gear struts are made of metal, with everything else produced in plastic.
Hi Anna

Since XH558 was released (AA27201) we have released a white "anti-flash" version (AA27202) and have plans for XM607, which was part of Operation Black Buck (AA27203). If you're interested in a Vulcan model, definitely check it out! bit.ly/2b8i6xD

You are correct Thomas the colours are so wrong and of course XH558 was glossy.
Look like the jet bomber on James Bond thunderball
Corgi want a whopping £219.99 for this model

We did produce a white "anti-flash" version, but this has sold fast. You might struggle to find it! However, try searching for 'AA27202' to try and track one down - good luck!

Quite a wise decision by Corgi actually: ever thought about the shipping costs of a real die-cast model this size? ;-)
@UzairH
7 жыл бұрын
At the price point this model sells for who cares about the shipping cost? Even if it weighed another 2 kg the shipping costs would only marginally increase. Not using plastic and having metal castings only would add only 1 kg or so, not 20 kg! These are DIECAST models, not plastic model kits. Plastic models with decals should be considerably cheaper than diecast ones.
