The Trans o Lites work by exposing either the Front Windscreen or Rear Windscreen to a light source and either the front or rear lights will light up. Cover the either panel with your finger and the corresponding lights will go out... Several Corgi models had Trans o Lites back in the 1960's when I was a kid.. I had hours of fun with a little Ever Ready torch and my Trans o Light Corgis back in the day..

Great information, thanks so much. A little more explanation could have been included with the reissues I feel👍

The lights on the Buick work by for instance focusing light onto the panel on the rear window, that will filter the light to the front lights and vice versa 4:43

Either there is a bit of mispronunciation going on, or a typ on the certificate. The Zephyr estate was converted from the saloon by Abbots of Farnham, a British coachbuilder. They did the Zephyr and Zodiac estates in Mks 2, 3 and 4, and the Corsair estate.

Thanks, there was indeed a few errors written on the certificate, first time this has happened...

The Consul/Zephyr was produced from 1956 to 1962 and sold very well. The Corgi version was based on real police vehicles produced to be used on the newly opened M1.

Fantastic, I didn't know that. I must do a bit more research before filming these videos! Certain, I never saw one on the road though. 🙂

@@JulesBurt The estate version was a coach built special, so rare even back then. The saloons, particularly the Consul which shared largely the same body but with different front end, were very common

I had the Buick Riviera model (pale blue) when I was a kid. I forget now though whether I had the boat and trailer with it as well.

It's a great piece, I had that trailer set through my hands as a dealer in the 90's🙂

I think light is channeled from the windscreens through to the lights.... Covering the rear window will 'turn off' the front lights and visa versa. i think.

Right, not really very obvious and no little instruction booklet, which probably would have helped. Thanks 👍
