Dont go full delusional with the defensive positioning of your house, but make sure you have an easily accessible space that you can take up to make its expensive (like the guy above me said) to take you out. Being expensive, with little reward or upside to their taxing losses. Use perception to your advantage by looking worthless, but pack a heavy and costly bite.

Something I recently added is a pair of snake gaiters. The southern woods are full of venomous snakes, so I want some protection. In fact, I encountered a 5 foot eastern diamondback rattlesnake last week while walking near a tree line...

Many, many years ago, my LE tac team got these new things called "plate carriers", and my young guys started making Superman noises. I told them, next time they shower, hold a plate up to where it would be worn and see just how much pink stuff was uncovered. The invincible noises stopped shortly after. Plates have their uses, but gods are they heavy. Oh, sub'ed to ur channel. Keep up the good work, and be safe.

@@unclefreedom213 Well around the house is a bit of a problem (the Wife is shall we say a bit of an accumulator....) but I do it at the one range when I can. Get some funny looks, but you will have this.

@olderiverhardgoods one of my favorite things is while you do dishes, mowing the lawn, raking leaves, driving your car(provided you're not getting out), find an old country road and go for a mile walk or start small with half a mile, while folding laundry. Doing it while doing mundane tasks really exposes fit issues because we bend and move in ways we don't on the range.

Run the SOE Tactical micro rig and XL Fupa w dangler. Literally has outlasted every other chinesium made products from other "name brand" products. You'll pay a little more and wait for it, but it is heirloom quality and unmatched. They built war gear for NSW and special forces before there even was a tactical nylon gear industry

Hear me out. You can wear a plate carrier without plates…. If you’re not sure whether to go PC or CR, because you cant afford plates yet, that is an option. Also hear me out, i think an assault pack with a water source and some sustainment is probably the second thing to square away after the chest rig. (Which you touched on later)

environment dictates a lot of what you use also. For example if im in the woods Im going to be using my modified alice gear for a multitude of reasons. Another thing is the more skills you have the less shit you have to carry. you have to protect your back its recommended you carry no more than 10 percent of your body weight. So if your carrying 20 percent of your body weight your pushing it especially if your out of shape. Im 51 and I work out extensivley 5 days a week and I try to keep the weight under 30 lbs. Screw a helmet when I was in the infantry i hated wearing that crap. Give me a boonie cap lol.

I’d like to hear your opinion on something. What do you think about wearing 2 different size mags on duty belt to make it a little easier to grip that first mag. For example, right now I’m running a Glock 22. My first mag has a +5 baseplate and second mag is standard 15 round Glock mag. My thoughts behind it was to get to my first mag faster/easier. I was running both of them with +5s. Have you ever ran it this way?

right now my two favs that aren't commo is the Safariland Liberator and these Sordins both are neckband and come with amazing gel ear cups. They're over 200 a pair but what's your heating worth, best investment I've made in guns was buying high end ear pro. I ran Walkers and Impact Pro and thought they were great, then I got really good ears and the difference was crazy

@unclefreedom213 I appreciate the input, that's certainly on my list of gear to buy. Walkers work, especially with upgraded ear pads, but they're pretty clearly not even close to top end. Ran peltors when I was in and even being old beat models they were nicer. Just gotta fit them in to my budget! This pay period I focused on building up a better stockpile of high quality ammo thanks to some of your other videos. You're the man
