go for it the toolbox model does not make much sense for car cleaning, too bulky, heavy and short hose.

Tbh i was looking at getting the Milwaukee wet/dry vacuum for easier upkeep on keeping my daily clean but I’m glad I watched ur video first I’ll get the other one

I have both the Milwaukee hand vac that you reviewed here, and the new Fuel Packout vacuum from Milwaukee. I can add the hose from the hand vac as an extension for the big one, and can stretch out to 14 feet with still plenty of suction. Plus, it clips right into the Packout mounting plate in my truck. The hand vac is also the perfect backup now

Yep the Milwaukee shop vac is an older outdated model. Milwaukee also now makes a backpack model that is also free standing or hang-able that is quiet (76db) has almost twice the suction (76 inch's of water) and is in general a beast. That said for car detailing use you would still probably want a longer hose to allow easy access to the various areas while allowing you to keep the vacuum outside the car.

Great review AF. Have been looking for awhile now and this just helped make my decision. Although just might by the makita as well for more of the home projects. By the way any closer on the CF Guilia flaps. Thx James.

the Makita i think has a bluetooth function to even connect with tools i heard. def a good choice for power tool dust extraction. CF flaps end of next month ETA

Amazing device🌼 better built than any plug-in hand vac, and so much more convenient without the cord. The standard 1.25" vac nozzles and extensions fit fine. Great for auto interior, for spiders and webs. The batteries stay charged for months.

Thanks for the video. It would be easier if you keep the Milwaukee vac in the trunk instead of carrying in your hand and for larger area you could use the broad suction attachment.

Thanks for sharing. I was just thinking about an easier way to vacuum instead of dragging out my extension cords and all that.

If not already installed I can recommend automatic cable reels for wall mount. Just pull the cable a few foot and it will roll the cable back up on its own. Made working with power tools way more convenient for me.

I moved from Milwaukee to Makita and this vacuum is a beast. I definitely will buy this.

i carefully use the PFM drying towel for the jambs after i blow them out

I have the small Milwaukee. I use it to suck up fruit flies in the kitchen. Works around my muscle car pretty good too.

Can you do a video testing makita’s new compact shop vac model number XCV11Z it’s 150 ish. Also you then can put it against the other battery operated shop vac’s from this video.

I really like the Milwaukee wet/dry vacuum. I bought it specifically for vacuuming out my cars, but I can easily use it to clean up around my house too. I disagree with your comment that it is heavy and cumbersome, though. It would be heavier and more cumbersome than a hand vac, but compared to a shop vac it’s extremely light and portable. I set my vacuum on the seat and clean the floor and visa versa, you don’t have to hold it the entire time you vacuum. That’s exactly how I envisioned using it, so no negative marks there IMO. Makita is not an option based on price alone, and between the two Milwaukees the wet/dry vac wins.

Yeah biased review the driver side door mat he threw stuff on it for the makita, the trim I was definitely worked in. Not to mention from the start of the video he was sucking makitas nuts hard. If that’s his brand fine but he objective not this staged bs. The Milwaukee works just as good especially if you don’t have soft hands.

@@captainamericaamerica8090 Depends on for what. Makita chop saws and table saws are garbage. I've tried every brand as I am a carpenter for a living...not a fan of Makita saws. I do however like Makita routers and Makita grinders are really good. No company is the best across an entire tool line. I own the Milwaukee hand vac. You aren't going to beat it for cleaning cars. I would not even change much, except it would be nice if the kit came with a soft brush (it does not come with a brush) which is a necessity for cleaning cars.

I have a Dewalt version and it’s a bit like the Milwaukee toolbox shaped model in you video. It is cordless as well as corded, which was something I liked. I bought a few different attachments from Shop Vac to work with my unit, which made mine much more productive.

The trunk carpet is very different than the interior carpet to clean trunk being way harder looks like you didn’t want the Milwaukee to perform well

You need to buy the WeatherTech cargo mats for those cars. Then easier to vacuum with the M18 unit!

I got WeatherTech floor liners and a trunk liner for my car last year. They are custom-molded to fit each model perfectly, and are raised on the sides to keep liquids and debris from getting underneath the liners. All you really need a vacuum for at that point is the spaces between the seats, doors, center console and underneath the seats.

Amen. Exactly what I have done. The Milwaukee hand vac has plenty of power if you aren't trying to pull pine needles out of the carpet. WeatherTech mats are the first thing I buy when I get a new car.

Got the Milwaukee. Works great for vehicles. Handier and faster than my old corded shop vac. Their blower also works well for drying.

I look forward to it. I think detailers should message them about updating their M18 rotary polisher to a double action model, or maybe doing a smaller unit. Cord management when you are polishing is a pain in the butt, especially when you are on a ladder doing hoods and roofs of pickup trucks... enough market demand and they may release an updated unit.

update: The Milwaukee died about 2 weeks after I got it. Only used it a few times. Took it into Milwaukee for warranty... they have been low on replacements, and I have been waiting for 2.5 months already :-( Ended up with the fuel packout wet/dry model. Bigger, but much more capable.

I have that m18 2 gallon and the ryobi 3 gallon and the ryobi is alot smaller and easier to handle and about the same suction I don't even use the m18 for my cars anymore just in the shop

With the bigger Milwaukee you did the area of the car that most vacuums can’t vacuum. Do it on a floor at and it would be fine!

Clearly you didn’t watch the whole video.

You could have set the Milwaukee wet/dry vac in the trunk and moved it around as you were cleaning out the trunk.

Where can I get those filters for the hand vacuum ?

I recently purchased the smaller M18 dry vac mainly for use in my car. I can’t fault this vac, it’s cleaning ability and ease of use is outstanding 👍

@@CarFlyRCing Mine started shutting off the other day. It shuts off and restarts again after a few minutes. It's very annoying. I've read many reviews mentioning this. Some believe it's a trigger issue.

Has anyone compared milwaukee vs dyson? The dyson price for handheld cordless is so much more so i would expect it to better but I haven't seen anyone compare them.

Why do you say that? Price, looks, and ratings appear to match the current one from what I can see. Edit: Nevermind, I see it now the hose is stored on the inside. Some of the pictures I was looking at must not have been updated. Still, the ratings are the same so I'd imagine the result would be too.

It is the older model. The newer model the hose tucks inside the vac.

Why not using makita on the boot ? Different mess at front seat than back boot.

Makita has a smaller single battery 18v vacuum. It’s a little smaller than the Milwaukee toolbox one. It has a blower port too and is only around $160. Also for any mobile detailer who’s not invested in certain battery yet. Makita just released their 18v selectable between random orbital & forced rotation polisher. And it’s is absolutely killer. It’s by no means cheap, but it’s like a flex 3401 and a DA in one unit.

that polisher you mention is the portable version of the corded one i got P05000C , i love it did a full review a while back on my channel check it out if you get time.

Would you use the milwaukee m18 wet/dry vac for wet carpet extraction? I just bought my m18 it should be here next week. Hopefully it could do a carpet extraction.

If the toolbox Milwaukee doesn't have *enough* power with a longer hose, then it's a fail. If it does, then it would be my first choice.

Rigid cordless vaccums are more powerful than the Milwaukee and with a bigger battery it crazy.. louder but it works but nice video 🤠

You can put at 12 amp hour battery in Milwaukee

9:27 why not put the vacuum in the trunk and use it that way? So you don’t have to hold it

Hilit is a great brand and my mason friend has their Vac and its really good but not very consumer oriented and not many would have those batteries and chargers unless they were a professional contractor.

I agree. My 18V-class tools were all Milwaukee. But the Hilti 21.6V (B22) vacuum is so much better than anything else between 18 and 24 volts, I made an exception. 9ft hose, quiet, powerful, and the most elegant attachment storage.

with the 5.0 battery i can use the vac many times to clean out the cars and i charge it once per week but recently got a spare 5.0 so im good to go for a while. when the battery goes down to the 2 level it looses suction

Auto Fanatic I disagree my 15 year old daughter wears it on her back all the time to clean out van and truck. She never complains it’s too heavy. If anything she says it’s easier because she has both hands free and doesn’t have to lug any canister along with her.

you vacuum like you have ADHD. slow down and let the vacuum do it's job. a common complaint, it seems, with the smaller milwaukee, is the trigger starts to fail. not sure what it is, but my dyson does the same thing.

Yes, mine just started doing this. I've read that the high output batteries cause this, but I avoided using them on mine because of this. Seems to be a trigger issue or battery/tool communication issue.
