Thankfully Copyright amendment Bill was passed in 2012 in parliament and life of music composers and lyricists is much better now. This was Javed Akhtar’s finest hour as parliamentarian and citizen of our country. He championed and introduced this bill. Special thanks to late Arun Jaitley and late Sushma Swaraj ji to support this bill in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha respectively as opposition leaders.
