Copying Certain Pages from One Canva Design to Another

In this tutorial I will teach you the must know method for copying certain pages from one Canva design to another. It's perfect when you want to combine only certain pages from one design into another Canva design. Not only that, this method will work even if you are a free Canva user so you don't have to worry about not having the Canva resize and switch tool that's part of the Pro account.
I'll show you the method, walk you through an example to make sure you understand how it work and exactly where your pages will get pasted and then I'll even give you some strategies for copying pages to a project with new dimensions along with some other tips.

I do this all the time! I have Canva pro but the resize doesn’t always work in your favor (though you can select only pages that you’d like to resize in the new document). I make lots of patterns for clothing and it’s usually better to open a new document for the size you want and copy paste the pages from the previous because I’ve found that way it usually saves the elements positioning and ratio, making less work to tweak in the new document size 😊

Ah yes, of course you're right, you can select pages when using magic resize. Seems I forgot about that when creating this video, but agreed, it's often easier to use copy and paste method! I also find the checkboxes for selecting/deselecting pages rather cumbersome when doing this or when downloading only some pages from a design. I'd love to see them improve that. 😀 cheers, Greg

Hi Carol, thanks for the question. I may not understand exactly what you're asking without more specific so feel free to provide more detail if I don't answer your question. For removing the background from an image, there's the background remover if you have Pro Canva, otherwise, for free Canva users, under the Apps tab you can search for "Background Eraser" or there are websites like remove.bg that can handle this. For removing the Background Layer from a design, it will not be copied if you use the Ctrl+A (to copy) single page method (outside of grid view) and then Ctrl+V method to paste into another design. If you just want to "keep certain images" then you either can selectively select and copy only certain elements from one project to another OR you could use the grid view copy method described in this tutorial to copy over certain pages and then selective delete the elements you don't need. Not sure if I answered precisely what you were asking so, again, just clarify if you have further questions. cheers, Greg

Hi, Carol. I had to do a KZread search for "vending machine gift box" and I found this video, kzread.info/dash/bejne/laV8qKabosnUqcY.html. Maybe you're trying to create something like this and need help setting up the pages to print with Canva? It seems like you'd want to set up different pages with your Blues Clues images and then print them out for the assembly phase. If you have a Canva project started and have questions about it you could always share it as a "template link" and I'll try to help if you are able to describe what you are struggling to do. cheers, Greg

But once I get them in the free canva I want to remove the background from the upload image from pintrest in canva. I can't figure out how to remove the background for uploaded images in the canva app. I love the video you sent me, that was so kind of you. I need to know how to remove background from the blue clues shovel and pail . So I can make all the different images like she did on my paper. I not very smart. So, I apologize for not explaining myself very well

Option 1: Once you have a project open in Canva, looks for the "Apps" option in the left menu. Search for the "Background Eraser" app. It will prompt you to "Choose file" and you'll navigate to the folder where you have the Blue Clues images on your computer and then it will attempt to upload and remove the background of photos. Option 2: Head to the website "remove.bg". Use the upload image button to upload the images you want to remove the backgrounds from. Once done, you'll save the files to your computer and then upload those new versions to Canva. Either of these options should hopefully work for you. Best of luck! cheers, Greg
