The sad truth is the indian films are not even upto the standards of 1930's hollywood black and white movies. All are giving only importance to character(hero, heroine), but not the script. In hollywood they give importance to script and the dirtector will choose the actors according to the script. But here its just the opposite the actor is choosing the director. The basic of filmaking is itself wrong. Even charlie chaplin movies without dialouges are nice because they gave importance to script. A movie with normal acting with a good script will be nice rather a movie with good acting with a bad script. Script is the King, not heros

I agree what he said about Mani Rathnam but will totally disagree with Ramayanam & Mahabharatham. I think he didn't do enough research about the epics, though it is considered that Ramayanam & Mahabharatham are mythology which is still debatable. I saw Godfather in the year 1987-88 that was the 1st English movie that i have seen in my life, then years later watched Nayagan, at that time i still had the doubts whether it was copied but couldn't come up with knowledge and wisdom because i was in teens. But later i watched Godfather again just to find out that it was atta copy. People who would have seen Godfather and adored it would have had a hearty laughter at Nayagan like me. There are some factual errors in what he mentioned as a comparison between Godfather and Nayagan. Michael Corleone will kill the five heads of the family during the christening of his sister baby just to vengeance his father's attack, brothers murder and killing of his first wife in Cicily. Also, he mentioned that Sunny Corleone[1st son of Don Vito Corleon in Godfather] would be killed in a petrol bunk which is incorrect he will be killed in a toll booth. I would totally disagree with his point about Atlee. Atlee is another atta copy fellow who doesn't deserve the accolades that he is enjoying, it is a parody that he has gain such a status also a parody that we have sent Nayagan for Oscars[if it was true].

iliad is considered to be of 1200 BC, whereas Mahabharatham is of minimum 2500 BC . Ramayana is much much older. So simply you cannot not say it was a copy.
