Copperplate Script Yin & Yang Approach Calligraphy Manual
FREE RESOURCES PACK - www.calligraphymasters.com/re...
Copperplate Script - A Yin & Yang Approach by Paul Antonio, is an innovative, new technology applied to an historical script. The script presented in this manual is not an historical hand, but a geometric construct to aid in a more exacting understanding of the script. This construct assists with writing a cleaner and more beautiful copperplate script. The Technology reintroduces a comprehensive terminology for the parts of the letters - words used by the English Writing Masters in their Copybooks, in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, as well as additional names augmented from the historical record. Geometry and physics are used to explain how a curve works and where it sits in relation to the baseline. Learning the skeletal forms, similar to learning Roman Capitals, is a key part of the manual. The process begins with using a pencil first, followed by the nib.

@@jcb1880 you are missing the point of the system. I am not asking you to do quadratic equations. It is just about applying where a 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 and a 1/6 is to give you a better idea of where to place the pressure or hairline. This means you dont have to guess where on the line the shapes are that makes a huge difference in the execution of the line. Equally, this is my approach, others have a less technical approach which you might find more appealing but from my experience, everyone who has tried this has thanked me for the structure because there really is no guessing. Once you understand it and apply it, you can then fre yourself of it but it will always guide your proportions.

@@jcb1880 calligraphy is subjective, it is simply Paul's technique. You do not have to approach Calligraphy this way if you do not want to, and you dont even have to focus on Copperplate. Thats the beauty of art. I do graffiti and spray paint and these techniques are helpful in many aspects of writing.
You revealed the soul of calligraphy.

What a beautiful thing to say. Thank you.
This guy has mad skills but I'm totally lost. Calligraphy quietens my mind but this raised the volume. His system may not be my cup of tea but for those who get it I imagine it will help them with this script. With or without this approach, Copperplate calligraphy is incredible.
It's so interesting to see mathematics applied to fields you ordinarily wouldn't think to tie them to! Suddenly, gorgeous lettering and fanciful flourishes don't seem as daunting as they once did. Delightful!
Eres un GENIO!!!!!! NO LE ENTIENDO a tu idioma, pero si a tus dibujos y me gustó tu firma de hacer esas LETRAS PERFECTAS!!!!!! GRACIAS!!!!!!! un saludo desde el PETÉN GUATEMALA, ------ querido amigo.......¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Gracias!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍......
"The confinement really helps us think out of the box." Poetic.
and that's why mathematics is beautiful.
Yes! Makes so much sense. This is why you are such a great teacher 👍🏼
I have watched this video a few times which has enabeld me to understand the Angular confinement - Geometry of the letters in a clearer way, Thank you Paul.
I always hated maths but I really loved your explanation, you’re definitely a master. I’m falling in love with calligraphy and I’ll definitely buy your manual to learn, I can’t wait. Thank you.

Great 👍, thank u!
brilliant!
Absolutely brilliant. I never learned how to write well because I thought the "standard" script we were taught was hideous. Opinionated Brat me! There's a name for that script which I cant remember presently. Ewwww! It was on a band above the black board. If I had known about Spencer and copperplate, I'd have a better penmanship. I bought all sorts of nibs and pens, some of which have sharp points and dig into the paper. Perhaps too many years of coffee, but it is really hard to make a smooth line. In these days of keyboards, I hope the rediscovery of this art flourishes. Will get the book. PS who could thumbs down this? It's beautiful! Get a nice fountain pen and WRITE someone a letter! Frack emails!
Woah mind blown
Kudos 👌🏻 👌🏻 👌🏻 👌🏻 👌🏻
I'll buy one to myself very soon.

Arabic calligraphy is utterly gorgeous. No idea what it says, but it is beautiful.
Reading comments below, it is interesting to see so many left by people I assume are from Arabic/Islamic heritage. In Islam, one shouldn't draw any "graven images" so calligraphy fills the need to decorate manuscripts, mosques, etc. just gorgeous! Doing calligraphy turns off the incessant verbal noise in our brains. Playing sports/music does the same thing, and any verbal mental activity will mess up your performance. Example, a baseball pitchers facial expression is as blank as a fence post. NO MENTAL WORDS
... and then solving the system of nonlinear partial differential equations, we get the letter B.
