Copperhead!! Surprise exploring a small clear stream...
Спорт
Finding a new stream to fish is about the most fun adventure there is.
What's it look like, what type and size of fish live there, how hard is it to walk it, what other wildlife will I come across. I almost stepped on a copperhead snake while walking the trail, It blended in so well i could have passed by without noticing.

Saw one of those last year picking up lighter knot. Thought it was a rat snake and bent down for a good look and jumped about 10 feet when I noticed the copperhead pattern.

100% Copperhead. Great video. Cottonmouth looks similar with the Hershey kiss pattern but have more dots inside it. They are typically darker and no they don’t chase people. They’re actually very timid.
That was definitely a copperhead!
That’s a copperhead my friend. Careful!
Copperhead! Glad to see you carrying a pistol; not all snakes crawl on their bellies!
Proud supporter of the 2A! 👍
That indeed was a copperhead. Beautiful little animals but you don't want to step on one! You did the responsible thing in moving him off the trail.
Definitely a copperhead. Two or three years old. What a gorgeous stream!
Some of those rock/stone structures show evidence of being polygonal masonry which means it's waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy older than what we are told. Awesome place to explore. Thanks for another video
Holy crap. Was only halfway through when I sent the 1st comment. Keeps getting better. OUTSTANDING
It was definitely a copperhead glad you seen it
Fantastic place
Looks like every copperhead I've seen.
I miss hiking like that and enjoying Gods beautiful creation. Just can beat seeing nature like it was meant to be
Great video , I grew up TN creek fishing so these are very nostalgic. Keep up the good work brother!
Man, John...after that close call with the snake, I would have been too timid to keep hiking down the creek beds, knowing the next one may only be another step away!! But kudos to you for bravery, and double kudos for the awesome scenery you let us enjoy with you!! :-)
You're living the dream man. Exploring around nature and fishing creeks for a living. What more could you want from a job?
That's a beautiful butterfly. And I know the feeling about being exhausted and whether or not you'll have enough energy the fish, I put in 4 1/2 me this past Sunday to get to a spot on the river that I've been wanting to fish for a little while. Mission accomplished and I got into the smallies
Thanks John. I enjoyed that hike and watching you catch a few nick creek fish.
Beautiful copperhead. And yes, 100% sure it's a copperhead. The markings on its body give it away regardless of how copper colored the head is or not.
Outstanding video! Thanks for sharing this adventure and taking us along. Good job out there! Beautiful place as well! Keep up the good work! And as always, #CreekFishingAdventures rocks!!!
Great video and choice of location. The fish you did catch would be enough for me. I love hiking in Appalachia. Blessings brother John
great time for me, thanks. I used to do a lot of stream fishing "back in the day" but not much anymore. I didn't realize how much I missed it til now. Reading the stream, trying different things, walking to the next spot, just a good pull to get out in nature. enjoy it..
Looks like a ancient place to be pretty neat 🙏
Thanks for the beautiful Scenery All the best. And great fishing fishing🐟
From Greeneville TN miss that creek fishing. Thanks for another great adventure John!
great scenery be nice to go there
I really like the rocks in that stream.Beautiful.
Man I love those Owner jig heads. I use them for Hellgrammites, shaky head worms, paddle tail swimbaits and even smaller craw and creature baits sometimes. Good job getting that snake out of the path before he or someone else got hurt. I am no herpetologist but I do believe he was indeed a copperhead.

Agree with both points. I am also hooked on Owner Ultraheads and Blockheads (and, of course, Yum hellgrammites). Also that is 100% a copperhead.
Thank you for taking that adventure. Very inspiring to get out there and just enjoy teh scenery.

Beautiful place for sure.
Nice place. Like to see more of this creek.
I really did enjoy your Cumberland Plateau stream fishing. It was fun watching you have some fun.
Thanks for sharing 👍, this was a good creek! 👍 such clear water to fish. Reminds me of my childhood favorite creek I used to tube float, and fish as a kid.
Reminds me of a mill dam in NW Alabama I fish occasionally. Great camera work, thanks for the trip....
My good sir, I have always enjoyed fishing tiny streams like you were in this video. I always have incredible results when I use tiny jigging grubs or 3/4 inch insect creature baits.
Beautiful area.
I commented on the snake on your Facebook page, definitely a copperhead, but I loved the little creek! Since I’ve fished the small creek in my videos this month, I’m hooked, and absolutely love it!! I grew up fishing a larger sized creek that flows to the Tallapoosa river and it’s really the only place I fished until I started my KZread channel last year. It’s fun learning new techniques and fishing different types of water.
Beautiful stream and country. Enjoyed seeing the critters too, looks like a peaceful place to be. I love the rocky streams in Tennessee! Also, here in Florida you have to watch for gators in addition to the venomous snakes 😳
Beautiful area up there !! Bro. John
Man I gotta say, even though you didn't catch a ton of fish, I enjoyed this video the most out of one I've seen from you in awhile. Not that your stuff isn't great, but the scenery in this one just had me glued to the screen. Felt like I was on a gorgeous hike but hey let's catch a few fish too! Awesome stuff man.
Hello Brother 🤠, went out this morning with my ultralight setup ( economy magyver deal😅). Caught 2 blue Gill, 2 shiners, Smalley and 1 Rock Bass! Was awesome!! Thanks for everything 🙏
Definitely a copperhead 100%
God bless! The picture for the video is awesome!
Whether or not you catch fish, John, you still make it Enjoyable to watch Your videos. Good EYE seeing that snake. That is some very pretty area. Wouldn't mind Seeing it in person. Looks like there's a lot of history there.
Great video, thanks for sharing, nice snake photos. Fun Exhausting day. Stay Blessed.
Wat a beautiful area . Great video and really nice Smallmouth.
You find such cool spots to go fishing
Snake boots 👍...they are waterproof also. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!!!

I have snake gaiters from living in rattlesnake territory. You could even wear shorts with them I guess but where I went you wouldn’t want bare legs at all.
That Smallmouth was a beautiful shade of green.
Great video! That scenery was awesome. Snakes happen. We have to stay alert 🚨 when visiting their habitat
Was watching i_fish and he mentioned you. After his video I decide to check you out, it’s been awhile. Great time to check in because I’m happy to see this gem. Beautiful area for sure.
That was Amazing. God made that. No man can ever make something like this. God Bless.
Love the channel buddy! I do a lot of creek fishing down here in NW GA. Ton of fun!
Definitely a copperhead. Great vid.
Beautiful stream for outdoor fun ! John, don't be playing with copperheads ! LOL ! Always be safe. Pap Blevins
Definitely a copperhead I would have freaked out and ran away screaming I hate snakes 😂 keep up the great content
Hey buddy, sure got LUCKY, that DEFINITELY was a COPPER HEAD with a Diamond Head and severe golden color of a penny 💛 on his top of the head, could of been A REALLY BAD DAY, FAST 🤕🤕 have to keep your eyes 👀 👀 moving and scanning the area EVERY STEP, they ❤ LOVE that warmer weather pattern, BE SAFE CYA next time 🎣🎣🎣🎣 😎🌞👍
Really nice video.
Copperhead, good job getting him off the path and into a wooded area, where everyone is safe.
Gorgeous creek! Glad we don’t have to deal with any snakes up here in Canada. 🫣
Love the fishing but I think it is amazing that u posted Gods word on ur channel
Your content has been fire!!!!!
Nice video As for the lack of bass in the upper stretches Sometimes a bad summer will kill off a huge amount of a creeks fish in areas due to low or hot water temps A few years back I helped with restocking of fish in a creek 10 - 15 feet wide With a lot of 2 to 6 foot deep pools , but a lot of a foot or less stretches We had a drought and several farmers were pumping water from the creek Lowering and letting the creek temps to raise , causing a fish die off above a dam We fished down stream of the dam and moved the fish 200 yards upstream

Here in Tennessee, especially East Tennessee where he is, creeks like this don't get nearly hot enough for fish to die from. These creeks are actually typically pretty cold because a lot of them run out of the mountains.
You always have the most encouraging content. I love fishing...but also enjoy our God's creation. I makes my old heart happy. Thank you sir
I love your videos good job dude
Copperhead for sure. They are everywhere in Kentucky & Tennessee.
Yes it is👍
Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee that place looks amazing 👏 😍 I was surprised to see that many people!!!! Another epic video buddy
Man I miss the mountains, go to the mountains and the temp would drop 10-15 degrees
Definitely a copperhead, beautiful area there

Nice views.
You know man ,you know 🎣🤘
Another great video. I have relatives that live in Clinton Tennessee and have always wanted to fish there. If you think about making your way up to Ontario let me know. Would be happy to take ya ditch fishing
Just admit it, you like to fish there for the beautiful scenery. I'm going to Helen, Ga on the next good weather stretch, and the Chattahoochee River runs through it.

thats a beautiful place also
Beautiful are lived down from Dunlop for short time, great creek and swimming hole comming down suck creek mountain.cold water and deep holes jumped off twenty foot ledge couldn't touch bottom
That was a beautiful stream John. I wish you had been a little more successful finding fish, but at least you didn't get snake bit LOL. Looking forward to the next video sir. GOD BLESS and GO KATS!!!!!!!
They ought to call that stream bolder creek, I know you had to be getting tired because I was getting tired from you climbing all those rocks, i would say that most of the bass are down stream there's hardly no way for them to go up stream, loved the video!👍🎣
John, It sure looked like a Copperhead to me, if it has a round pupil it's not .good eye keep a watch out . Great views and good looking fishing stream ,Thanks for taking me along. God Bless .Tim L.

@@timlacy2284 I have never seen a copperhead, I’m in the west, but I have dealt with plenty of rattlesnakes. At least they give you a warning, although my husband can’t hear them so I had to let him know if I heard one.

@@marthamitchell9452 Copperheads do not give any type of warning, I live in North West Tennessee, we have Copperheads ,Rattlesnakes , Cottonmouths /Watermockins are the ones that you have to watch for around here.
Real deal copperhead. Thankfully I’ve only seen a couple of those guys.
Yep, on snake I'd. Note much on the fishing but the scenery is well worth the trip
Thats a copperhead awesome snakes
Very good scenery, good way to cool off, and I agree, an interesting adventure! I would love to do this, but at 56 years old don't know if I could make it 3 hours?
You should go to Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, tn..it's on the Cumberland Plateau..it has some nice bass and you can use your own kayak or rent a John boat with a trolling motor

Love that place lived in Sparta for awhile
Yep a copperhead got bit by one a month ago
If you pick it up by the tail and swing it around it makes a whistling sound like a party favor
I really like Fenwick rods superior tackle.
The hershey kiss marking on the side makes it a copperhead
Jon,that is Copperhead the ones l have encountered are are not aggressive. In fact one day my brother and l were walking and he stepped on one an it just crawled away.I have also seen them on golf courses sunning and the basically want to be left alone.Cool snake you spotted.
When I hiked that area during the drought that creek was almost completely dry.
John, did you swallow a belch when you were talking about the hook? Lol ,love it! Real as real can get!
a pretty place
I use Keitecs 2” swimbaits in small creeks like that around me(east tn as well) and they eat em up.
Absolutely a copperhead. Good move.
Beautiful place and Jon have you ever used the kastking baitcaster reels
Definitely a copper head, and if you’re where I think you are, I grew up in that area and they used to mine coke and there’s several coke ovens on the way in beside the road
Copperhead snek! Smaller may have a yellow tail, and larger generally get darker like fall leaves. Venomous, but more painful than deadly aside from the risk of anaphylaxis. Lots of them here in Kentucky. Timid and non-aggressive, but any wild snek will bite if handled. Treat it like a loaded gun.
Hey the way you can tell is the patter on its back if it’s a Hershey kisses pattern it’s a copper head if not probably a water snake.
looks like Potter County,Pa...🎣
