“Born in Caracas - Venezuela, she (Oriana Plaza) began her ballet studies in Venezuela at the María Teresa Alford school in 2000, playing roles in the dance corps, main soloist, pas de deux: pas classique, don Quixote, Cisne Negro, Sílfides, Corsair among others. In 2006 she won a scholarship to the Nina Novak Chamber Ballet School, where she performed as a corps de ballet, soloist and principal, in ballets such as: Confite, Don Quijote, Esmeralda, Corsario, among others. During her stay at the school, in 2008 she won a scholarship for the Ajkun Ballet Theater summer, where she danced the Romeo and Juliet ballet together with the corps de ballet company. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 she participated in the Nutcracker of the Teresa Carreño theater, in the roles of Waltz of the flowers, Snowflakes, Doll and some Clarita rehearsals. In 2008 she participated in the Perm (Russia) competition where she obtained the highest score among Venezuelans. In 2011 she wins a scholarship at The Rock School for dance education, a school in the USA Philadelphia, where she is accepted at the last level; She performed in roles such as Black Swan, Spring Waters, corsair pas de trois, Harlequinade, Nutcracker (Spanish dance, principal of flower waltz, star fairy, flower waltz and snowflakes) among other dances. In 2012 she participated in the Youth America Grand Prix competition where she was among the finalists. In 2012 he joined the Atlantic City Ballet company with the director Phyllis Papa, where he performed roles in the dance corps and soloist, such as: Nutcracker (waltz, flakes, doll), pas de trois de corsair, Dracula (las 3 vampires), A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 2014 she joined the Lima Municipal Ballet company under the direction of director Lucy Telge, where she has played roles as a corps de ballet, soloist, first soloist and principal, in the ballets: Hija del Faraón (Ramsea, gazelles, Pescadoras), Nutcracker (waltz, flakes, moro, Chinese dance, confectionery), Bayadera (pas de trois, corps de ballet), Sleeping Beauty (friends, pas de sept, blue bird, cat), A Midsummer Night's Dream ( the yellow fairies), Pas de deux Flames of Paris, Don Quixote (kitri, dream corps de ballet), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet, friends), Swan Lake (Odile, Odette, pas de trois, Neapolitan dance).” (balletmunicipal.com/speaker/oriana-plaza/)
