TThe ballet is about a girl named Coppelia who sits on her balcony all day reading and never speaking to anyone. A boy named Franz falls deeply in love with her and wants to marry her, even though he is already engaged to another woman. She decides to impersonate the doll, in order to win the love of Franz.

Osipova is just " something "....can watch her endlessly

I saw this version of the ballet in full, but still I am happy with these 10 mn of remembering my delight !

Thank you for these summaries. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to learn much about ballet, but even from these short videos, I can appreciate the tremendous talent in this beautiful form of art, and I'm intrigued to see how an entire story can be presented without any spoken words. If your goal is to introduce people to ballet and kindle an interest in seeing more, you're certainly succeeding.

Aw, lovely! Thank you so very much, this series is wonderful! I think you picked again the most beautiful production, as the Bolshoi Ballet features the original concept with all the mime and those lovely dresses. I also like that the story was told on an amusing way, very suitable for this funny ballet. You did include some brilliant dancing in the ending (I think it was Osipova as Swanilda?), but perhaps you could mention a little bit more the dances (just like the Csardas) and the divertissements (the hours, dawn etc.), and you did already hit the 10 minutes limit. Perhaps it is not so important for Coppelia as you focused on the plot. (as perhaps in the Nutcracker or Sleeping Beauty).

Yes it's hard to manage all group choreographies in ballets, mainly because they're often a lot and all beautiful 😄 thanks for your comment!

@@DanceLineBallet Actually, I've been rather thinking of those dances essential for the plot...just some more information, e.g. that the villagers enter to dance a Csardas. Or that the dances in the ending belong to the festival because of the new bell (that is why the theme with the hours of the day); and this is then merely an occasion for the wedding. And this is for me an essential part of the ballet; ....Yet, anyway, thank you for doing the series!
