I have a Master's degree in linguistics with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

English is my native language. I've studied Spanish, Czech, French, a little German, and Portuguese. I speak Portuguese as my second language because my husband is from Brazil.

I have a full-time teaching job at a college in California, so I don't currently offer English lessons online. However, I may do that in the future, so check back!

    More than one million people live in my hometown, and there are a lot of entertainment in this area, but it’s a very safe city, so you can walk alone at night. I took in so much useful information from this lesson video. Thank you so much .😊

    This is perfect. Thanks for sharing and combining clauses to make a long sentence : ) Note that "entertainment" is a non-count noun, so it's singular, so it should be "there is a lot of entertainment." Thanks for sharing Angel!

    I usually live in Nigeria. It has pleasant places and unpleasant places. You can visit the club or the restaurant but at any place you may visit always have in my that you need to be careful

    Good job! Note that you need to add a comma before "but" because it's a compound sentence. In other words, there is a subject and verb on both sides of "but." :)

    No, it's not correct. You can't combine 2 clauses with "if" and "so" together. Try again :)

    Rewatching the video, I have a question. What is the difference between subordinating conjunctions and coordinating conjunctions? I know the examples of both, but I wanted to know the difference between 2 natures?

    They basically serve the same purpose but the grammar is different. Subordinating conjunctions form a dependent clause, while coordinating conjunctions just join two clauses. Subordinating conjunctions can come at the beginning or in the middle of a sentence, while coordinating conjunctions only go in the middle (i.e. the clauses can't be flipped). Also, subordinating conjunctions tend to be a little bit more formal. I hope that helps!

    Hello! Coordinating conjunctions and conjunctive adverbs are different because they use different punctuation. Please watch my video about how to use conjunctive adverbs (how to use However, Therefore, etc.).
