When I was 8 years old the adults were watching Dangerous Minds. I fell in love with Gangsta's Paradise, Coolio became my favorite rapper and It Takes a Thief was my first ever hip hop album. I then watched this performance live 😫💔 I argued with my parents when they made fun of his hair or anyone that had hair like Coolio. He opened a door for me that lead down a path of talent and amazing artists and beautiful people hanging on in this cruel hard world. Thank you Coolio for introducing me to Hip Hop Rest in Gangsta's Paradise 🙏🏼🕊

Got into Coolio during the pandemic, and always annoyed my friends and unironically played Gangsta’s Paradose on repeat for a month. Coolio was what got me into 90s rap music, and made my school years more enjoyable. This man still had a few decades in him, and I’m sad he couldn’t enjoy it. I hope he’s in a good place wherever he might be.
