Cooley's Reel - Tin Whistle Lesson
Музыка
Another good standard session tune that's been coming up in Skype lessons lately so I figured I was overdue for recording a video on it. Hope you dig it!

This ones my favourite!!!!💚
Thank you, you're so talented.
Brilliant
Great lesson! Do you have a tutorial specifically showing how to do that fancy bag piping ornament at 4:15? Thanks!
Nice tutorial! What tin whistle are you playing?
This is one of my fave tunes, still trying to nail the B part, it keeps eluding me
Ha! Went the wrong way on the playback speed, couldn't figure it out...Man, you were flying!
Found a version with triplets, I found you have to make the triplets clear for it to hit the audience.
congratulations! may i know what brand of flute are you using?

@@whistletutor lol... I know, I think that is my problem. I keep trying to learn it, but I am using so many differant peoples versions.... I can't make it sound right. One day it will just click and I will be able to play 50 differant versions of it.
Which version did you use?

Yes, pronounced "knee -sh."

Always D, unless otherwise specified :)
Thanks for the video, I am trying to learn it now.... Cooley's Reel isn't the right name for it and it was composed by someone different under the title of the Rossport Reel. If you want to hear anymore about it let me know.... a musician in my family composed it 70 years ago. A shame it made it to the states how it did. Thanks!

There is a tune called The Rossport Reel, but it is not Cooley's Reel. It is very different tune. The root of the confusion here seems to be that one of the alternative names for The Rossport Reel is Cooney's Reel. It's also known as The Providence Reel. Tunes often get named after a player, especially locally. Names of tunes often get detached and some other name comes in so that people know what is being referred to.
NITCH! Rhymes with witch, bitch, itch, etc. (unless you're Franch!)
too fast.
