I found his address to write to him and I'm all the way out in S.taying D.edicated , Cali . Where there's a WILL , there's a WAY. Don't talk about it be about it ! WORD !!!! Everybody be out here saying free so and so or talking about their close homie being locked down on their social media accounts but then they don't pick up a pen and paper and actually write to their homie. I've heard cats make excuses saying I'm not a writer. Well if that's the case send them some pics or articles to read. Take their calls or put some money on their books every so often. Cool C, like Will Smith, makes rap fun, easy to sing along to and doesn't speed up the pace with his lyrics like, say, Young M.C. and distances himself with the abrasive nature from Public Enemy's Chuck D and Flavor Flav. Also, his version of "In The Ghetto" sparks a more positive and less graphic message unlike Eric B and Rakim;s and Too Short's own versions. It adds on to the hope that there really is after all, and that's a good thing. Before I sign off, I want to publicly announce that I am fully aware of his incarceration and number of stays of executions. It's always better to have dedicated homies that will send letters on a consistent basis. There's too many of those fair weather friends out there that write once and then are never heard from again. Writing to an inmate is a commitment and can really help lift their spirits and should be taken seriously . There's not too much to look forward to on the inside but mail is definitely one of those things that an inmate does look forward to as well as phone calls and of course visits ! @knucklegame5050 I remember when Chris's aka Cool - C's 2nd album came out in 1990 titled : "LIFE IN THE GHETTO" This song was one of the singles from the album. Another rapper named Too Short released his album titled : "SHORT DOG'S IN THE HOUSE" that same year. It contained a hit single titled : "THE GHETTO". Since I was living on the west coast most of my area knew of Too Short and gave that cut a lot of play. However I was busy bumping the cut "LIFE IN THE GHETTO" by Cool - C. What's so strange about these two songs depicting life in the ghetto is that they both dropped during the same year and came from two artists that really had different styles and one was from the west coast and the other being from the east coast. But all those differences aside, when I listened to each of their songs it's crazy how similar they sound. Cool - C uses a faster beat to rap over and has a female singing the chorus : "Life In The Ghetto, Ohh Whoa Ohhh" and then on Too Shorts song "THE GHETTO" he raps over a slower sounding beat and has a male singing the chorus : "The Ghetto, Talking Bout The Ghheettoo". The baseline of the beat on both versions sounds VERY SIMILAR to me. I think you and other people that listen closely will agree. I actually only purchased the Cool - C cassette when it came out and only heard the Too Short version "THE GHETTO" when everyone around me was giving it heavy rotation in their cars and on the radio. From the information I've found on the internet Cool - C's album "LIFE IN THE GHETTO" was released on August 30, 1990. Too Short's 6th studio album "SHORT DOG'S IN THE HOUSE was released on September 11, 1990.The single for Too Short's song titled : "THE GHETTO" was released on October 8, 1990. Both of their albums were recorded during 1989-1990. I GUESS WHERE I'M GOING WITH ALL THIS IS THAT YOU SHOULDN'T POST SIMPLE IGNORANT COMMENTS SAYING A BEAT SOUNDS "CHEESY ASF", WHEN IN ACTUALITY THESE TWO ARTISTS MADE VERY SIMILAR SOUNDING TRACKS. ONE IS JUST FASTER THAN THE OTHER BUT THE LYRICAL CONTENT DELIVERING A DEEP AND POSITIVE MESSAGE IS ON POINT ON BOTH VERSIONS. YOU SHOULDN'T DISMISS A SONG AS BEING "CHEESY" JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT A FAN OF A FASTER PACED BEAT. BOTH SONGS ARE DOPE IN MY OPINION, LYRICS AND BEATS ON BOTH VERSIONS ARE ON POINT IN MY OPINION.
