Abhijit Banerjee:
Abhijit Banerjee is an Indian Economist who focuses on Development Economics and Political Economy and is the current Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He jointly received the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2019 with Ester Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty." Abhijit Banerjee has authored numerous books including Poor Economics, which won the Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year, and Good Economics for Hard Times, both co-authored with Esther Duflo. His most recent book is Cooking to Save Life, a sensational book of recipes he has delighted his friends and family with. The book is illustrated by Cheyenne Oliver.
Cheyenne Olivier:
Cheyenne Olivier is a French illustrator based in the Basque Country. She playfully builds her images from squares, circles, and triangles. She illustrated Abhijit Banerjee's cookbook Cooking to Save Your Life, and she is working on a series of children's picture books about poverty with Esther Duflo, which will be published in France in 2022 and soon in India. She is pursuing her PhD in children's literature and illustration at the University of Tours and the Orléans Art and Design School while working for newspapers such as The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveller, and The Times of India.
Krish Ashok:
Krish Ashok is the author of Masala Lab: The Science of Indian cooking, published by Penguin Random House, and an Amazon best-seller that explores the science of Indian cooking with the aim of making the reader a better cook and turning the kitchen into a joyful, creative playground for culinary experimentation. The book uses simple, first-principles, middle-school level science explanations and hand-drawn illustrations to break down what happens in the Indian kitchen and recommends algorithms and metamodels for common dish types and regional Indian sub-cuisines. In his day job, Ashok is the Global Head-Digital Workplace for Tata Consultancy Services and helps Fortune 1000 companies reimagine the future of work, a role that is at the intersection of technology, design, and culture. He is also a regular columnist on food, science, and culture for publications such as Mint, The Hindu, Scroll, and BuzzFeed.
