Cooking Robot, Project YORI
Ғылым және технология
Introducing Project YORI, a flexible and expandable cooking robot system prototype being developed by RoMeLa in collaboration with Woowa Brothers. YORI stands for “Yummy Operations Robot Initiative” but it also means “cooking” in Korean.
Unlike most other cooking robot systems, YORI is designed to be expandable to cook almost any type of dishes. At this point, YORI can cook steak frites, fried chicken, pasta, and brownies to name a few. With its proprioceptive actuators, the robot can perform tasks that other conventional robot arms cannot, such as kneading dough which requires force control, or tenderizing meat by pounding which requires impact mitigation. Instead of trying to mimic how humans cook, we approached the problem by thinking how cooking would be accomplished if a robot cooks. Thus the YORI system does not use the typical cooking methods, tools or utensils which are developed for humans. For example, the YORI system utilizes unique chemical sensors to make sure the food is cooked to perfection and the ingredients are fresh. The system does not have hands either - it uses custom tools for each tasks which are automatically installed at the end of the robot arm via a tool changer mechanism.

A squirt of coolant, perhaps?
I'm glad someone is working on this. If I wouldn't trying to figure out how to best build robowaifus, then I would go for something like that or a fully automatic convenience store. This is a big part of the solution to the worker shortage in developed nations. I would just accept fewer restaurants, tbh, but other people won't. So it's immigrants, very old people, people who lost their office jobs to AI, or robots. Such robots would also improve the quality of life in more rural areas if they can prepare more exotic meals, and quite wealthy people wanting to be to themselves and living in a rather remote place could use it as well.
한국계 이름이 많아서 뭐지 했는데 우아한형제들과 콜라보레이션을 했군요!
😊👍👍
Straight from Science Fiction!
If you can create open standards, we can have a new market designing accessories for this system. I think that will be key to making this mainstream. It should also be scalable with multiple robot stations working on different dishes in parallel and according to ticket order. Also curious why the robot is humanoid looking with 2 arms and a torso.
The custom machines are great Love it!!!!!!!!!!
👍👍👍
come on ...I want end to end video in and neuro net works out! just kidding. that's Optimus. cool stuff. makes no sense french fries be made by humans, and nearly all fast food can be automated. but for now should have human tasters for QC control - what a great job!!!

역시 Romela 짱이네요!!
Super success super congrats keep up the good work we need tiny form robot kitchens with more menu choices because nobody wants spitting dirty expensive human cooks
