My ovenbreak loving heart is going crazy over blueberry pie cookie and glass sugar cookie's appearance, with that ever so subtle voice of Amber Sugar cookie there too. It makes sense that the wizards are so advanced, they held the advancement of their craft above ethics, it's a bit unsettling how and what Devsisters decide to really reflect a real-life aspect in their cookie world.

I believe the costume represents Sagittarius the Archer, it makes perfect sense for Moonlight Cookie honestly considering Sagittarius in mythology is “The learned healer whose higher intelligence forms a bridge between Earth and Heaven”.

I cant describe how beautiful the theme of moonlight cookie and this update is.😍😭

You know it's kinda sad. They show that the Wizards were great and wise, but they also showed how cruel and despicable they were as well. Stardust cookie is almost like Dark enchantress cookie. Both were wronged by their creators and have immense power. I truly can't wait to see how White Lily can return.

While Stardust and Dark Enchantress started off fairly similarly as powerful cookies wronged by their respective creators, Stardust was ultimately saved from the dark path because he was shown that his creator still had hope in the rejected dough even if it wasn't the "perfect" moonlit dough they were trying to make. Dark Enchantress never found such an opportunity for redemption in all the years since the night White Lily fell in the ultimate dough

It also appears that they valued perfection so much that it has caused them to develop a twisted approach on things, seeing anyone or anything that doesn’t adhere to their standards as “inferior” or “unwanted”. Moonlight Cookie’s creation was welcomed with open arms (as shown in the planetarium cinema cutscene) while Stardust was thrown out for being a “failed” prototype. Moonlight grew up believing the Wizards were great figures because they saw her as the “perfect” cookie, and treated her with utmost respect, while others like Blueberry Pie (as shown in Crunchy Dreams) were belittled for not reaching the same level of potential as her. Heck, in Pie’s Crunchy Dream sequence, it’s even implied that she was lied to for YEARS about the existence of magic, being told that only a “special” cookie like Moonlight can wield it, which she is “not”. (Side note: the Tome Keeper Wizard knew about this and taught to her about magic in secret. It’s sad because he was the only one of his kind who genuinely cared about her) This meant that Moonlight had to suffer not only the consequences of being left behind as the sole protector of this city, but also the realization that her creators weren’t what she thought they would be, and was treated as such solely because she was their “golden child”. But then again, I’m just here making speculations based on a cookie game so I could be wrong.

This reminds me of certain dark content from the Sonic series. Such as Mephiles killing Sonic (Sonic The Hedgehog 2006), the Ancients wiped out by the ruthless entity, The End (Sonic Frontiers), Shadow’s past (Shadow the Hedgehog 2005), and corrupted data from Sonic Colors: Ultimate (thanks to interference from the glitches).

Oh, and the bad ending of Sonic CD as well, including Johnny Lightfoot’s death from Fleetway’s Sonic The Comic.

Aside of enjoying all cookies seen in this episode I noticed one small detail in The Eternal City Of Wizards map! I saw blueberry eyes on the right side of the Clock tower as well as a similar building! It got me to think that episode 7: The Forgotten Academy is connected to The City Of Wizards in some way! Although, I think it was already obvious.

That… does make me think of Kronos Island, Rhea Island, and Ouranos Island from Sonic Frontiers. For instance, at Rhea Island, where Sonic nearly got cybernetically corrupted, there is an area similar to where Super Sonic fought Giganto.

i came back to this story 2 months after because i had a little thought about moonlight and stardust's creation. you know how in ovenbreak, moonlight's resonant ingredient for her magic candy is the little star? why not something related to the moon itself? after all, that was the main ingredient in her dough. just made me think that the circumstances between the two siblings was thought out pretty well by the writers. or i'm reading too much into it lol.

That goes the same for Eggman Gnome, who was also seen as Sage’s father, in both Sonic Frontiers and The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog. On the other hand, for the NPCs that appear in just Special Records, I refer to them as event NPCs.

Stardust Cookie almost sounds a bit similar to both Shadow and Silver from the Sonic series. For Shadow, GUN killed his friend, Maria, and executed Eggman’s grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. For Silver, when Mephiles, Iblis and Solaris were still around, he was in his timeline which was a burning apocalypse before the time reboot. During the Sonic IDW, after the disintegration of the Zombots, Silver’s future left behind just water, ruins of buildings and metallic plants until in Sonic’s timeline, the Metal Virus was destroyed, eventually reversing the state of Silver’s future, which instead of being barren of organic life and machinery, it was barren of ruins and metallic plants.

When I first started playing I didn't really care much for the story so I just started skipping. Now that I've went back and watched it all and caught up with the main story and side stories I have a new found love for this game. Looking at all the lore has been so much fun, makes me want to check out ovenbreak as well
