It's worth noting that Venom Nova has the spell tag. I ran a build using Lightning Nova and leveraged Tempest Strike to increase the scorpion's spell damage. It's a cool skill, there's a solid variety of ways to make it scale.

I've been wanting to find a way to make lightning nova shine for a while now but even with the addition of tempest strike i found it kinda fell flat and had issues with single target. Also, while it is a spell, venom nova itself doesn't scale with spell damage as it has no base damage and the hits it delivers have no added damage effectiveness.

Its nice to see content from the part of the community not everyone sees. im honest, i dont realy look into the forum, even discord im only on every now and then

Just popping into the comments for if anyone has questions regarding the build that i didn't cover in the interview. actually realised one thing myself, in the initial echo you see me do i'm actually using an avian puppet; a cuckoo that's turned into an exalt, in place of bastion of honor. This is 100% purely for *speed*, for the most part even at 1k corr the bastion is a little overkill for mapping and you are most at risk from DoT's, which the bastion does almost nothing for dealing with, so you can run an avian puppet with as high rolled implicits you can get as a clear speed enhancer. edit: 1.1 cycle details: build ends up mildly buffed overall! we copped one nerf in the reduction of mana regen given by the hybrid mana weapon prefix, but otherwise it's all upside. The changes to the aspect of the boar nodes end up giving us 5 more passive points to work with in the tree in exchange for 5 strength. Warcry node changes free up 3 skill points to invest into either the frailty node or haste duration and mana efficiency. The addition of duration to the cornered beast passive node (previously beserker) is hugely beneficial for life based variants Flat health regen being moved from boots to amulet opens up a very strong and effective (but high investment) hybrid EHP vessel of strife build along with wall of nothing bunch of new beneficial uniques in null portent (high investment HP build chest), monument of protection (defensive 1h weapon), naals tooth (clear speed 1h weapon), scales of lemniscate (BiS 2h melee), and world splitter (potentially easy farm for 1lp slam as it has hybrid mana built in)

Cool build. Is there any benefit to using "Triage" on the Eterra Blessing skill tree - thinking it may hard to find the scorpion at times.

@@ddelmarsmith not really, lowest health ally includes you, and you will often be lower health than your scorpion. This would likely mean you'd end up getting less casts on your scorpion than otherwise. to make it easier i only have minion health bars enabled and i position my cursor on the other side of my scorpion from my character, this makes it more likely the proximity target can only target your scorpion. tbh when they were doing a visual rework on the summon scorpion i was extremely disappointed in how muted the visual effects were, if they were more clear then it'd be easier to track your scorpion via the nova effects.

Awesome seeing these showcases! It would be extra good to be able to see the character sheet as the person is going through things, to see what they're talking about directly for those of us not so familiar with ability/node names etc.

I see you've made an effort to show lil screenshots of the nodes mentioned. I'd still love to see the character sheet as stats are gone through though!

while we don't have exact details on what the balance changes might entail for beastmaster, we've had no indication they're looking at it for any significant balance adjustments. The most likely nerf would be a hit to the general beastmaster damage reduction package (ursine strength/aspect of the boar) and while that would weaken the build slightly, it would remain incredibly capable. the most likely thing for the build going into next cycle is that it'll simply end up unchanged. There's simply a lot more things that need more urgent attention than the beastmaster tree and the skills used in the build. Might end up slightly buffed through indirect things like a new item base or mildly beneficial unique item.

kind of new, can i lvl this build or do i start with another build first then respec to this , and if so what build should i start with?

you can absolutely level with it once you unlock scorpion, best method to get to that is using first specialisation slot on thorn totems and taking more damage nodes on that, 2nd specialisation slot is used for swipe, taking minimal points in the nodes leading to the "claws of the bear" node then stockpiling 2 points to take claws of the bear and primal resonance at once when you hit level 20 where you'll switch thorn totems to storm crows (taking crowstorm damage stuff in bottom left of its tree) and putting your third specialisation slot as eterra's blessing going for the cooldown refresh. Once you unlock summon scorpion simply switch crows over to scorpion. My build guide outlines what you should do from there

Shouldnt serpent strike actually be the replacement of swipe in this build instead of blessing of eterra? I would play more summon builds if game didnt push me to use swipe in every summon build tbh but swipe is just way too good to replace with anything in current game

In the current state Serpent Strike should be left in the bin. But to seriously answer you, no because Swipe is just that strong. The 100% healing to your minion is to influential to not use. It allows you to stack max minion HP and also ignore your sustain, healing effect, leech etc

This is my isssue with LE in general. Which is making logging in to play it very difficult. If you want to play, you are forced to use certain skills on certain classes, not because you want to. But because you HAVE to, either because the skills are broken, or just too good. Or the skill you want to use is junk

@@mertuygun4825 i would very much like for serpent strike to be a viable alternate choice for the build but the implementation of its nova procs is just so awful it simply isn't. Replacing swipe with serpent strike is almost a strict downgrade, swipe simply gets you more mana, more novas, doesn't limit weapon options, and is better at hitting groups for more consistent procs of aspect of the boar and viper. there are actually a few beastmaster minion builds which don't use swipe, auto attack crows and aspect of the shark raptor both use tempest strike.

is it still possible to play in 1.1 ?

Is this build good after the fixes?
