It is strange seeing the Isle of Man again, I lived there when I was a kid and I knew exactly where you were sat even before I saw the Creg-ny-Baa in the background of one of your shots xD The swing bridge that you were waiting to open was built in the last year or so of me living there, the marian was completely tidal before then and boats would sit on the bottom during low tied. The bridge doesn't actually need that much power to raise the bridge as there is a counterweight on the other side hanging over the road. The Tower of Refuge, the castle on the rock in the bay, was built to protect sailers who became stranded on the rock after being shipwreked, by Sir William Hillary who also founded the RNLI. Some random facts for you there xD I'm glad you had a great time.

Boat owning , Isle of Man resident here,. Found your video and channel today. Coincidentally it is one year after this trip over (Sat 26 Aug 2023) and the MGP is running again today. It is good to find a passage and visit, looks like all went well and apart from a bit of fish feeding, the trip was enjoyable. I have skimmed your video feed, subscribed and will catch up with your back catalogue. Happy boating, hope to see you come over again some time. If you give a heads up, I'll make sure there is a warm cuppa or a cold beer waiting :-D

Nice work Team. Gemma ya be alright on Sarinda has another plus 40 foot and a cutter bow will slide through the Ocean nicely. Also be much quieter than that lil puppy. Awesome seeing the bikes plus200 mile an hour man they disappear quick. Good training re the engine issues. Sailing Yaba have just put there whacking great Merc in (that was fun.....) the Capt of the Ship (roughly round size of Sarinda give or take) MP has decided to do the Engine install as she wants to be able to attend to any issues if they come up and good on her. Go have a look work on her is nothing but EPIC. Anyhoo good you are able to get away for a bit learn something new and just have a relaxing HOOT. The Pub was excellent. Carry on

Just at the part where you said if we open this valve we’ll be swimming with the fishes. When I was with Shell Tankers we had a ship called the Norissia, she was loading out in the North Sea,, possibly on the Brent Spar I can’t remember now,, but the sea filter blocked up with jelly fish. Bearing in mind it was probably a 24” pipe and filter, the engineer on watch decided rather than chain block the filter out and empty it into buckets, he would open the ships side valve which was a pneumatic driven butterfly valve and flush the jellyfish out. It probably worked a treat but the pneumatic system couldn’t overcome the flow of the seawater. 10 meters of water in the engine room but she didn’t sink because she wasn’t fully laden. Oooops

I appreciate the great drone shots of the motor yacht and sailboat but as I sailor, it made me cringe. When there is a whole ocean to past another boat, I find it frustrating when they decide to buss right down the side of my boat causing to rock n' roll. I did notice that your skipper slowed down when you got abreast of the sailboat but did not see when he accelerated back up to speed. Many times I have had that exact scenario happen while out sailing in clear open water with no one else around. The Motor boat would come past me with less than 5 boat lengths between us and slow down just as they came even with us. After they would get well ahead of us (in the mind of the skipper) they will accelerate back up to speed. This invariably happens before our boat is inside their boats wake so that means that they throw the full "coming up to plane" wake right into us. If you speed up any time before the sailboat is inside of your wake, it is better to not even slow down at all because the wake is far larger from the time you hit the throttle until you are up to speed than it is once your are at speed. We have a standard call on board for these close passers. "WAKE HOO!" Better yet, just turn 5º either way when you are a couple of km back and leave the boat with a 100m separation. If you must pass close by another much slower boat due to a confined , the best way is to come up astern close by one side and slow down a few boat lengths behind to a minimal wake speed, Then once you get clear ahead, turn your boat to directly ahead of the slower boat and once there, go about your business. That minimizes your slow time and puts the minimum of wake onto the slower boat.
