Most plates have 2 pieces of sushi and cost $2.25 per plate ( in Dallas, $1.50 in Tokyo).

reinne.mendoza yeah, I've heard a lot of why Japanese food, sushi or hibachi or otherwise is expensive mostly due to hype, like paying $12 for ramen at the only nearby ramen house in upstate South Carolina USA excluding any drink, and it's not even good or plentiful. It honestly annoys me.

Easy, the japanese (not only them) are emptying the sea of fish so it gets more and more expensive until no fish in the sea anymore! Capice ?

No, it is 14,850,000 yen, which is roughly $150,000 USD. So it's obviously not the price.

Luckily there is an English button for the menu. Some of the restaurant hosts/hostesses will show you, before seating you, how to open the containers for the plates on the belt. If you have any other questions, they are really nice and will help you. At least from all the videos I have watched.

I read up an article on it. They count the plates after you've eaten and you pay the corresponding price. Some shops have flat prices (all plates are the same price) and others like this one have a color coding system so you know how much a dish is just by looking

  • @pastamane

they have a slot where you slide the plates into and it counts them for you. usually it's a flat rate unless you order from the menu like noodles or hand rolls or desert.

Wendy Wong as a Japanese, you do put wasabi in a soy sauce in a particular situations. It is pretty common in Japan to put wasabi in soy sauce, people just don’t like them much.
