Converting a G-Shock DW 5735D to DW 5040PG 40th Anniversary Limited Edition

G-Shock just celebrated their 40th Anniversary this year (April 2023) and with that, they’ve released a few collectors limited edition watches, and one of those are the DW 5040PG, a reimagine 1983 originals, with crystallized screw-down case and buckles. It was sold out everywhere and the price has skyrocketed.
Really wanted one of those and luckily I’ve found a way to custom one using another anniversary release the DW 5835D, the circle square. Here is how I convert the watch.

I didn’t see a crystal gasket when you removed the original crystal? Also there shouldn’t be glue that holds the crystal in? Did you use a crystal gasket when you fitted the new crystal?

Yes!!! Nak beli yg complete release mmg belum mampu tapi mmg sama je 80% cuma kosmetic backcase, button and buckle je. :) awak custom guna base watch yg sama?

online. pacparts. i bought mine from a local seller that have a watch that he seperates the parts and sell it as spare.

It’s a DW5030 glass, not a DW5040.

I have both and the gold tint is darker on the DW5040
