Converted by the Spirit - Timothy Keller [Sermon]
Tim Keller sermons via Gospel in Life: The book of Acts tells us when Christianity was at its most vital and most potent it grew through conversion. In other words, Christianity was not originally a set of doctrines or practices one took up, but it was a converting power. This case study of Cornelius the Centurion teaches us four things about Christian conversion. 1) Conversion comes through God’s initiative. 2) Conversion is not a call to morality and religion; it is a challenge to morality and religion. 3) Conversion happens by the transformation of the Holy Spirit. 4) Conversion comes through the words of the gospel.
This sermon was preached by Rev. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on November 30, 2003.

"You are controlled by ...what you worship." Thanks for this profound sermon.
"The mouse doesn't search for the cat, the cat searches for the mouse." LOL. Very true.
I see it. It’s approval from people. It’s always been approval from people. And I don’t know how to stop except just crying out to God to deliver me to Jesus’ love. And in that, I have no control over when or how He does it. And the surface sins will just morph into something else if they’re “cleansed” by me.
I never understood the speaking in tongues before. Amazing.
A sense of God’s absence, is the sign of his presence 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I am now listening to this the second time. There was so much I learned the first time, I need to listen to it again.
Thank you so much God is truly king and thank you Tim Keller
Call nothing uncleaned that God already made clean including yourself
God has found me. Praise be to God!

"Ask for the bleeding charity." ❤❤❤
Conversion happens only through God's initiative.
I got so encouraged! Blessings from Croatia.
What gives us the assurance that the Gospels are reliable? How can we be sure that the witnesses did neither invent their accounts nor suffer from mental disorders or from some kind of hallucinations? What actually proves that Jesus had died on the cross and not somehow survived the crucifixion? Finally, what type of body did he have when his disciples saw him after his alleged resurrection? I would appreciate your comment on all these points! Thank you.
Thank you

Ok missing the point here
I agree musci is really not nescassary tks.
I think Ps Keller shouldn't haved used the term "convert" with the plain meaning of "change" and the theological/ religious category so interchangeably only at the end of the sermon. It can be very confusing. Also, the interpretation of the passage seems a bit too superficial, which seems uncharacteristic of his other sermons.
Jesus's no footloose as uniquely to declare - I'm The Way, Spiritual Truth and Eternal Life - and meddle with all other traditions alike if Lord's prayer in comparison for instance. Yet its one's Faith alone opens the door to God's in turn Christ's words above?! Nicodemus faced Who's firstly born as Where's a howling wind to strike, another Centurion knew Who's that Commander in Chief to have passed the order healed his servant, hence I think Election from God's choice isn't man to theorize over Devil's holdings unless he is taking place of Christ's...

Can you correct the errors in word selection on the typed feed? They erode authenticity from this amazing exposition.
