Conversations with CALL ME BY YOUR NAME
Ойын-сауық
Q&A with Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet, Michael Stuhlbarg and Director Luca Guadagnino. Moderated by Scott Mantz, Access Hollywood.
In the summer of 1983, in the north of Italy, Elio Perlman, (Timothée Chalamet) a 17-year-old American boy spends his days in his family’s 17th century villa lazily transcribing music and flirting with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel). One day Oliver (Armie Hammer), a graduate student working on his doctorate arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio’s father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an eminent professor specializing in Greco-Roman culture. Soon, Elio and Oliver discover a summer that will alter their lives forever. CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by James Ivory, is based on the novel by André Aciman.

26:35 UM I WOULD WATCH EVERY SECOND OF THE FIRST CUT OF THIS MOVIE. DONT CARE THAT ITS 4 HOURS
I don’t think people realize that when actors tell the same story in different interviews it’s because it’s for a different audience. Theoretically the same people watching this won’t watch Good Morning America. Just because you decided to consume every piece of media related to this film and have tired of certain answers doesn’t change the fact these stories are certainly new for others.

No boring time with Armie. He is very generous on his time to be interviewed.
I like how Michael Stuhlbarg really thinks about everything he says.

26:54 OMG I am looking f***ing forward to seeing the sequel with adding unseen (cut) scenes as a flashback like Luca said "I'm serious, I'm serious, wait and see!!!"

Luca said he needs at least 5 - 7 years to make the sequel, making the actors look growing old naturally. but if we looking for how long Suspiria made, it took 2 years since the cmbyn has done. so it's about 2020-2022
We've all heard the story of the only rehearsal like a 100 times but Armie took this long to talk about the story of how he got punched by Luca?!!

Yes, we've heard this rehearsal 100 times, it's fun all the same. But this time, focus your eyes on Stulbarg the whole time the story was told. His reaction was GOLD. Make the story all the more hilarious.
LMAO Timothee's smile 13:30 - 14:15 when Armie is telling the story AAHHHHH
hope armie continues to make movies like this. his talent shouldnt go untapped.
I love Scott Mantz so much. He's always smiling and also gives really great questions and responses. He's kind of the embodiment of joy.

The story of Armie getting punched my Luca was probably one of my favorite stories Armie has told by far!!
Stuhlbarg has something quite Robin Williams about them - the vulnerability and the understanding. I couldn't help but notice watching the movie (aided by the complementary looks), and it really comes across in this too.
So disappointed that Timo did not win an award. Timo made this movie and his acting was amazing.

"An award"? He won about, oh... 30. :)
12:24 -12:52 When Timmy says about him and Armie mirroring Elio + Oliver: "And everything else in the movie played out too!" he's just having a laugh, he doesn't mean they did EVERYTHING! Does he??? 😮😮👨❤️ 👨❤️😂😂 😍😍
@23:55 I thought that was such an amazing and subtle way to make the scenes and character seem so natural. I'm falling more and more in love with this director. Everything is planned and worked on in such detail, yet it all just flows naturally.
"I guess she likes peaches too" - omg, dying laughing! :D
Armie explained things pertaining to the film with great intensity and intelligence.ilove armie.
god michael's voice is so soothing. i could listen to him all day
Three words to describe this movie: Gorgeous, Sensual and Shy
There are dozens of these promotional interviews the cast did as the film gained growing attention and respect in the years after opening. This conversation is one of the best of these. The skilled interviewer chooses great questions to ask and is obviously a big admirer of the film. The responses from Timmothy, Armie, Michael and the director are all honest and enlightening and help to understand some of what happened in Italy, on set, and the interactions between the remarkable team that facilitated such fine and compelling performances.
This whole film was just one massive love-in 💙 💙 💙
i've heard all those answers 100 times and i never get tired of it. and those stories, ahh i love them
Timmy: *does literally anything* The entire fan base: *dies*
I cried so much when I read the book. It was one of my favorite books of all time. And when I heard that it's having a movie adaptation I was so excited. I have yet to watch it but I know Timmy and Armie did so great portraying those lovely characters. They're perfect to play Elio and Oliver and their chemistry in this interview is just overflowing. And also, the actor playing Elio's father kinda sounds like Lord Varys in game of thrones lol
I like the laugh of the interviewer when Armie tells the story of their only rehearsal. These actors are funny and really enjoy the movie they portray.
Watching this again.. I miss them...😭😭😭
Mantz!! So glad to see him moderating this one. I cannot wait to see this movie. I already know it's going to be one of my favorites of the year. Love seeing Armie and Timothée together in interviews- they play off of each other very well.

Saw it this past weekend when it opened in my city. BEAUTIFUL from beginning to end. Seeing it again this weekend!!!! I like the moderator’s questions and joyous attitude, but the laugh has GOT TO GO....YIKES!!!!!
Armie's comments on the peach scene are so right to the point. All of them fully absorbed the story and believed it. It's almost like they all lived in it. it's not surprise that the movie is that good light yet intense nature unforced non-cliche romantic and pure.
This is the best rehearsal story telling so far!!
4 of my favorite people in the world!
timmy really just blasted off
what i love about all of them is that all of them so rightly fit their position....the director seems so coy and shy and humble, yet so effective...the guy Michael, has such a calm inviting voice that is ideal for expressing deep things of the heart...Armie is so good looking and admirable he is perfect for a teenage crush figure, love the power in his voice...then Timothee is so intelligent , a heartthrob and has the boldness to take on the character so fitting , yet you can see that these guys are straight, though the making of the brought them close even as a family...i like that ...this movie transended a gay crush thing so many emotional situations have been touched by it...i can so on and on.
Elizabeth Chambers is one lucky woman. Jesus, LOL!
Armie, Timmy, and Michael my favorite..
I love these people, they just seem so genuine and nice, can't wait to watch the film!
Thanks for asking about the music, Scott, I was really interested to know more
luca is wonderful
Thank you, the movie is well-told, and it challenges, touches people, watching them told all the stories while filming, has added more desire to watch it again and again and thank goodness for KZread... when the copy is available to purchase I will invest and give to every person I know who could use a little sparkle in their eyes and let them witness what a true love is, in my opinion... Armie and Timothee..MAN, MAN, MAN YOU ROCK MY WORLD AND FOREVER INLOVE ....
This is a very, very interesting discussion. It gives a lot of insights into this wonderful and inspiring film. What a great team these men make!
WHY is this film not playing anywhere near me?!!?!?!? I'm dying to see this.

They're a beautiful and funny bunch. 'love the movie!
TOP movie and Timmy and Armie!!
Beautiful people. Just like their film.
Wonderful Q&A .love seeing Timmy,Armie and Michael together discussing this gorgouse movie. Luce done a great job which i hope he will release the 3 &1/2 hours version.
I want to point out something off topic. About Luca's accent. In any other case most of us would have made fun of his accent but the meaningful things he says make it dissappear. The beauty of his speekeing is not in the way but in WHAT hi says. So , to everyone who feels insecure about his accent, focus on what you say, that's what matters mostly.
2:43 WHAT ARE THEY WHISPERING 😦
I dont get all this love and praise and they only get nominated for best actor ( timohée chalamet) Where is the supporting actor nomination, the ensemble nomitation?
@lesliebinder753
5 жыл бұрын
I think Timothée deserved it for sure; but the entire cast was outstanding so no ensemble nomination was a disappointment for sure. Also, both Armie and Michael deserved supporting role nominations in my opinion. I loved this movie so much! The story, the setting, the acting, directing and cinematography were all superior!
congratsss 😘😘😘
I guess my wife likes peaches too, lmao 😂
I would pay good money to see the scenes he got rid of
Powerful movie

morom interviewer just totally not hearing Luca:let her ask the qiestion.
@treesny

Ummm... they didn't have a microphone out in the audience - all Qs were on the cards the interviewer read out - so her question would have been inaudible. Then the interviewer would have had to repeat the question so that everyone could hear it. Not the best use of limited time.
What message did it send.
I don't see comments
Doesn't Michael sound like Joaquin Phoenix
