Clearly GLaDOS inspired.

People are surprised by Camille's kind heartedness, but the impressive thing about her is she can still hold all these emotions to her heart while knowing and doing things that shouldn't let a person sleep. Like the whole unethical shit with skarner's family for example. That's what makes her scary.

The thing is... she really doesn't care about that. The game misses the mark on her so much it completely contradicts every single story she ever had before - the thing is precisely that she doesn't have these emotions on her heart, its part of her theme: that by slowly becoming more and more machine, she lost nearly everything that made her human. So it isn't like she is a sociopath/psycopath, its just that the game did a terrible job at doing lore

@@felipecouto1102 Yeah her quotes in the moba game are something else. But rereading her lore and looking into the comic I just now saw, she does care, she's just a work first type of woman. The stories do a good job at making other characters and us the audience question the human capability of her heart, but a particular quote... "...a strange, mournful keening in her hextech heart may yet prove a troubling portent." ...leaves room for emotional conflict. She really can feel. The theme of losing humanity by becoming machine is Orianna's theme. There's a mention of this as a concern for Camille but her augmentations hasn't shown to change her mentally pre and post surgeries. At most, she's become harsh from having to sacrifice the love she had for a man which to me affected how she went about things in the comic.

Before the fight with Ekko, her voice had no emotion and has robotic glitches because she wanted to eliminate him to smoothen out her work. But after knowing Ekko is a possible ally, she showed more compassion. Even at the end, she cared about Ekko too. You can feel her voice become more human. I just love this kind of character development. “The world is not black or white, but a delicious shade of grey”

I thought Camille was going to be a recurring villain. but I liked seeing her becoming an ally (maybe even Ekko's friend)

If you don't consider sorcerers and shurimans who lived for centuries, Camille is pretty much the character with the most knowledge and education. She also has a heart and she's compassionate, even if the occasions she shows it are far between. You should check her lore, probably one of the best in league

The game just wrote her completely different to what she actually is though. It completely contradicts the lore for no apparent reason. Either the game is completely non-canon and Riot will ignore it going forward, or they completely retconned Camille's personality to the point all her stories can be thrown in the trash

I really hoped that Mundo would show up for a brief moment. Just a reminder Mundo is the only one with memories that doesn't get affected by time travel

I hate how many people think Camille is pure robotic and cold. A part of her is still human and is strong. Besides how are you gonna be elite if you can't mingle with your peers because if she wasn't charming someone would tip off Jhin or a better assassin to take her out.

Exactly. In her lore her biggest fear is becoming fully machine and being seen as a weapon instead of human. She isn't evil, she's just burdened with responsibility and a city and family to protect. It's a really apt metaphor for people who are responsible for the safety of others in real life. We might not understand what it's like to be a cyborg hextech woman who kills in the shadows, but we certainly can understand sacrificing things for family and those close to us and for the greater good.

i feel like their almost setting up Ekko working with the Ferros in the future to create as peaceful a situation as you can between zaun and Piltover. perhaps Camille for example helping Ekko and Zeri taking down Renata Glasc

Really like her character in this game. She realized that she cant kill ekko because he rewinds everything and forged an alliance instead. Heard many people saying that its out of character and that she is supposed to be heartless. doesnt matter if she being heartless is canon or not, she is calculating above everything else. And this alliance seems like the best choice when ekko wants to save the cities and their goals align.

she may be heartless, but she is results driven first and foremost. If making an alliance is the best way for her to reach her objective, she will do it. Its just that most of the time killing iS the efficient thing to do... not this time.

Yeah, when people say that it's OOC for her not to kill Ekko the moment she realizes that his future version is a threat...well it would be logical for her to assume that the future Ekko might be aware of her attempt and stop her. You never know just how much time travelers know about their past and all what-ifs. So, she chose to be more careful and work with the present Ekko as her ally instead of giving him reasons to side with his future self or make two time-jumping enemies instead of one.

There's a difference between doing an alliance with him... and becoming a completely soothing mother figure. Even if she was not going to kill Ekko because it's not a good plan, she most definitely wouldn't behave like she cares for him... because she doesn't. At least not in actual lore - the game completely misrepresents her.

So fun fact to anyone curious: Camille isn’t evil in the slightest. There’s not a single bad bone in her body. . . Mostly because it’s mostly metal! Eh? Eh. . . Alright, I’ll stop. But Camille is just the definition of professionalism. All the gruesome things we hear about her is how she operates. She’s doing good things, but she’s just getting the results in a very brutal manner. Like the file says in game, people question if she’s even real. Because if you have to come face to face with her, you fucked up. Otherwise, she doesn’t make an appearance. And it’s not just piltover that she’s concerned about either. Unlike most in Piltover, she ensures BOTH cities have SOME semblance of order and economy.

Unless you are Renata Glasc's family. Camille's most immoral and cruel point has to be her treatment of the glasc family. She has clear and, even to normal people, moral reasoning for most of her assassinations. This one ain't it.

Like... no. She's not evil, but only because she is not human enough anymore to even do something for evil reasons - cause she lost all morals. She literally butchers innocent people because they begin to change the status quo and making life better in Zaun, and end up moving some numbers slightly down on a Piltovan rich family's gains. She also never cared about Zaun... in any of her stories. This is the first time she ever even bat an eye for the safety of Zaun, and its on the same game that completely butchers her personality and make her a soothing mother figure - pretty safe to say the team just did a terrible job on lore, as we can see in other champions in this game as well (like Warwick)

I thought that she was supposed to be a corrupt cop from a rich family that's basically an undercover crime family all this time Hold on, this makes no sense. She murders people in cold blood for the financial profit of her family. I sense bad writing here.

As a Convergence player, Camille was by far my favorite boss in game. She was hard, sure, but in a good way. Her design of attacks is just so good. Hookshots, walldives, Hextech Ultimatum... it's just great. And the fight itself was fair in a meaning that you get hit only by your mistakes, not because a game mechanic desides to screw you over (Warwick...?) If i could i would replay the fight over and over again. Good boss.

Camille kinda sounds like Glados..

Can I just add that her vocoder spasming out every so often makes Camille really fun to listen to? It reminds me of GLADoS, but it's still unique.

Camille is weirdly completely out of character in this game. Her whole thing is that she’s heartless - she denounces and represses any and all emotion because it interferes with her work. She kills her own brother to protect her Clan Ferros’ interests, she kills a chem baron in front of his fiancée AT THEIR WEDDING to stop him from entering Piltovan high society. Her character is defined by cold ruthlessness and emotional detachment. Hell, the moment Future Ekko became a threat she would have cut young Ekko’s throat to stop future Ekko from existing.

Personally, I think it’s interesting to think of it as how people perceive her looming presence in the city vs rare cooperative situations. Just like Pyke in Ruined King, it seems like Riot is willing to adjust characters to accomodate the narrative. She’s self-interested, but does anything to keep order in the city.

depends on how you assume time works. if future ekko exists, then ekko will not die in the first place, as we know he still lives in the future. and if past and future ekko are independent and simply exist on different timlines, future ekko can just rewind time and simply move present ekko out of the way of camille's attack. so my headcanon is that camille realizes all of this, and is aware of how pointless it is to try to kill present ekko.

I really feel like Ekko rewinding time to warn Camille about Jinx's kick wasn't really necessary. Judging by the sound, it didn't really do any more than induce a headache. She didn't even go down after the initial bonk to the head

ngl seeing Camille like this in a boss fight just made me imagine her as a boss challenge in Project L, and maybe even doing the iconic and infamous Genocide Cutter move (so essentially she's gonna be Rugal)

For me it took around 12-14 hours, but I did 100% exploring + In some moments I had gadget that makes enemies and bosses stronger but you receive more cogs, this made game a bit longer for me.

I mean logically it's because ekko has spoken about it to countless people in zaun. If he never told his friends it'd be impossible for most people (including Camille) to ever have any idea what he was doing.

The niceness might be calculated and she also isn't fully heartless, it's a point in her stories and lore that she has trouble walking the line between Machine Murderer and the Woman with love in her heart that she once was. The weakness however, yeah. Ekko i can give SOME leeway because time travel and stuff is wildly impossible to measure in power, so her losing the first round makes sense. She also doesn't seem too thoroughly beat. That Jinx scene was stupid though. She would have seen every single move coming and eviscerated Jinx in one sprint. A clean cut to end the loose cannon. However, it's a low age clearance game and they aren't allowed to properly kill Jinx. So, that's the best they could do (even if i had better ideas for a dramatic setting of that, falling down while fighting?)

Well this time rewind is outright unfair. Also Camille is a robot?
