This is most of the drum tracks for the songs from You Fail Me recorded at God City studio with just drums and a scratch guitar track (a deleted guitar track that doesn't appear on the album). "In Her Shadow" and "Hanging Moon" were done at a different studio so those aren't included. Sorry!

Dude, you're the fucking best for posting all this recent in-depth material of your drumming. I don't want to say "it's about damn time" since no other drummers are this cool about sharing their playing on a KZread channel, but it's about damn time! You're the fucking John Bonham of metal. Thanks for this.

Very few drummers are even remotely this awesome and inventive (myself included.)
God. So many unique grooves and beats. There is literally no other drummer like you, Ben. One of my favorite drummers of all time. Cheers.

I still remember when I bought this album….. Kurt, Nate, Jacob and Ben are masters of their craft. Please support talented musicians like this!!!!!
I only do air drums, but man i really love your work! Black Cloud always drives me mad!! Thanks for this treasure
These takes are so raw, and I'm so happy you chose to share them. I recently have submerged myself in Converge, and I am beyond overjoyed that the guys in the band are human enough to communicate with fans. Thanks, Ben. You'e the man.
this is the best thing ive ever heard in my life
Damn man, I think "you fail me" is the album with the finest drumming ever made in the history, simply perfect.
Dude you're like my favorite drummer and probably my biggest influence when it comes to playing them. I feel spoiled that you go out of your way posting chest cam videos and now this! Thanks so much man, I'll keep practicing.

It's my pleasure. Thanks for the support.
Come back to this so often… I actually listening to this more than the actual record most of the time. Wish I had more raw drum stuff like this. Thanks for the upload.
I have been dying to hear isolated drum tracks from so many of my favorite albums, this is one of the first I have ever seen and it is amazing! Hopefully you guys will release the Jane Doe, Axe to Fall and ATLWLB stems one day. I could listen to this on loop for weeks! Thank you!
I am constantly amazed by your dexterity and creativity. So fucking inspiring. Thanks.
Last Light is one of the tracks that will always just continuously floor me. The whole groove. Every fill. Truly incredible. Regardless of that song, your drumming and the band you are apart of in general has made an enormous impact on myself in more ways than I can even fathom. Thank you.

"We're not worthy." Too excited to see this band at desthwish fest and this is hardcore next week.

One of the best of our time. Thank you so much for all the influence you've had on the way I play drums.
Ben, you are a friggin' BEAST! cheers from austria, can't wait to see you guys in august!
Seriously. My favorite drummer out there. Keep on being bad ass!
Dude, thank you for this! Soooo rad!

This is really awesome. Surprisingly, it helps me concentrate at work. Thanks, Ben! Keep shredding! Can't wait for new stuff from Mutoid Man as well!

Be sweet to have this version pressed on Ben's choice of wax color!
Just recently discovered Mutoid Man and Converge but Ben Koller is quickly becoming my favorite drummer.
Well done Benjamin!
Brilliant!
jesus christ ben. so sick.
Sounds great
Savage! I'd love to hear Jacobs vocal tracks too
Thank you
It's like Bill Stevenson combined with Neil Peart or something, goddamn you are amazing man! This is probably my favorite Converge record too, love the rhythms and almost ambient dissonance. Come to Maine!

Bill Stevenson is one of my favorites. Thanks for the support!
the only thing that isn't absolutely mindblowing amazing about this video is that I didn't get to hear a raw stripped down version of Hanging Moon which would have made my entire life.
Thanks a million for being so open with these materials - could you tell em how processed these are? I mean are we pretty much listening to a balance of the dry microphones without compression etc?
This is sick, thank you! Would love to see a Black Cloud Go Pro video. Just wanna be able to see that mess of a drum part!
Fuck yes, thanks for posting this!
i love this.
Ben, can you put this up on Bandcamp or something?? You Fail Me is my favorite album of all time!!! And your drumming is beyond sick!! I need this shit!!
Eres buenisimo Ben. Vengan a chile, america del sur existe y resiste!
Sick.
24:36 is the correct timestamp for In Her Blood
Tight.
Fuck yeah now I got something to jam to!
Thanks for posting this Benjamin, this is awesome! Question: are these the unprocessed tracks from the session specifically, or something like the Go Pro sitting in the room?
Please upload some The Dusk In Us drum tracks or drum video lessons of Converge songs. I'm a big fan please come to Brazil.
I'm still shocked since i saw you for the first time in Milan on 2002.
lol I never noticed the alternating flams. Sick.
Thanks for posting these! Do you happen to know what stage of the mastering/mixing process they're from- stems, raw tracks with compression applied on the way in, etc.?
What kind of snare do you use Ben? I've always absolutely loved it, and have been coming close with by bell brass snare tuned up. Cheers!

I've used a bunch of different snares over the years on recordings and live. I've used Ludwigs, Sonor, Pearl, Trick, Yamaha, etc etc. Try experimenting with different snares, tunings, and heads until you find something that works for the music you're playing. I'm pretty sure the Snare I used on this record was a Maple Ludwig but I could be wrong...My live snare right now is a 14" Dunnett Stainless steel in the states and a Trick 14" aluminum snare in Europe.

Benjamin Koller Awesome, thank you for the reply! You are an inspiration.
is this the final mix on the drums or are they still raw? Not that it matters, this is amazing!
beaste
Dang. That's all.
Hey Ben thanks for sharing, really cool to hear the raw tracks. I have to ask because I'm always wondering, would you consider your approach to a song a little more calculated or methodical? Like would you thoroughly sit down with it and figure out what you want to do with it, is what I mean. Or do you more so just feel what you think is going to fit and go for it? I love your drumming and the more I listen to you and watch your technique I think to myself "how does he come up with these parts?!" aha. Thanks again Ben.

I spend a lot of time trying out different things in every song. I'd say i'm more of a feel player for the most part. It's all about figuring out what's best for the song and complimenting what the other players in your band are doing. Plus I overplay a lot :)
@IntoEntropy

Benjamin Koller "overplay a lot" have you ever been told that by your bandmates though? like "hey ben tone it down a notch". lol
Fuck drum covers, we got the real shit right here haha!

A few years ago I did a cover of the title track using your isolated drums and adding the guitar, bass, and vocals myself. Hope you enjoy it! Much Love and Stay Heavy
