So I’m a huge fan of Chelsea Wolfe. It’s how this song came on my Spotify. Thank god. The album is just utterly insane and beautiful and powerful. Thank god and Satan and whoever for Chelsea Wolfe for introducing me to Converge. Now I’m a huge fan.

If you are up for recommendations, Jane Doe, Axe to Fall and All We Love We Leave Behind albums are probably their best work. Very much unlike this and much more abrasive but rewarding listens once you crack past the surface. Jane Doe is probably the most challenging one.

I love seeing Stephen Brodsky working with Converge again. I want Brodsky to remain powerful forever. He's one of the best personalities in metal and rock, and from his Cave In classics to Mutoid Man's unhinged energy, at the end of the day he's a sweet man with a guitar who is unafraid to be eclectic. I love him and wish him strength, as I have since I watched Live At Roadburn, which was a testament to how real Brodsky is. That's what he means to me.

Nate needs to sing on more tracks along side Jacob. His performance is killer at the end.

As a huge Converge fan back thru the 90s, and then being blown away by Jane Doe... After that album I changed my whole approach to the bass guitar because of Nate! Was more of a jazz fusion player while also being a metalhead at the time. Nate has a riffage and tone that made me wanna get heavy on the bass, and make heavy music myself!
I am in love with the bass line in this song.

This band has a big enough discography at a point where they don't owe us anything, they left a mark in the metal/hardcore punk scene already since Jane Doe. If you don't want to open your mind then listen to Knocked Loose's new EP (great btw, but apparently heavy only satisfies you)

dude give it a few more spins, its a grower. i LOVED it after like 4-5 listens, after i picked up on all the nuances.. the ending climax is just massive, so much going on with the chaotic screams and melodic guitar etc. the ending is pure 2-3 minutes of cathartic rage and passion.

Weird that this is credited as just "Converge" when Chelsea Wolfe has a significant input in it. Awesome nevertheless.

I am with you. Converge was always my fave band. They changed my life. I always thought they could not do wrong but well I think I have to accepct I and they and everything changes. Sometimes I like it, sometimes not. It is like it is. Guess we don't have to like everything. In the end we have the old music stuff we like and other people how don't like the old stuff maybe like the new stuff.

Not every release is going to please everyone and you are entitled to dislike it. Just don't stoop to the point where you demand that bands stick to their same old sound for decades or you start to sound like a curmudgeon. This is a Collab after all.

I don't know if you're aware that Converge doesn't make this kind of stuff usually. I get that you don't like this but you should check out their other stuff if you like those bands, in my opinion.
