I know it's petty, but the only thing that bugs me about the aqua dva skin is that it counts against the hero gallery completion. I had everything else and now i will never be able to make it 100% complete again.

Time limited exclusive skins are fine, if they come back again in the future. But ones limited in availability like the Dva Aqua Tokki for only 300 people, nah Blizzard needs to stop that crap.

I had no idea that’s how the gentle monster Aqua skin was sold. I thought it had just not been released yet.

The Aqua skin kinda only went to A listers and some of them had nothing to do with the game eh

The one coin Bastion Skin released on December 2022. (End of 4th Quarter) Overwatch 2 released on October 2022. (Beginning of 4th Quarter). People were boycotting the shop, but Blizzard needed to artificially boost shop sales to impress investors. Showing that somehow OW2 still had a successful release. And thus, Gingerbread Bastion was born.

One thing that ticked me off about the EDM Dva skin is that blizzard changes the LED lights on the mech so it only changes the leds with on color, but earlier it was multicolored changing LEDS so I was ticked to find out about them changing it

@@illegalpizza7285 the LEDs of DVas mech changed to more boring, look at the skin now and look at a video of the skin when it was first released in season 1. The LEDs look better in season 1 than it is now, blizzard basically downgraded the skin LEDs on the mech.

I think all cosmetics should be earnable, without purchase, but also purchasable if you want to support the game. (Weekly challenge coins in OW2 should be 600/w not 60/w) And I do not think skin should be locked behind time or event exclusivity. (I missed out on the Bastion Lego skin because I was away for work during the event.) Sure, those skins should be special, but they should be rotated back into other events. A Blizzcon skin for example should come around for purchase or earnable for the next Blizzcon. Giving those who went a year to show off but not locking people out of maybe 1 skin that basically costs $300. A person who can drop $300 on /the game may play 20hrs a month whereas another might not be able to afford $30 but plays 200hrs a month. Why should the guy devoting his time not be able to access the cool skins? The game only exists so long as people are playing it.

The Medic skin was re-distributed as twitch drops at one point since I ended up getting the skin, the conductor skin as well. Pink Mercy is much more rare as a skin that benefited charity it will never return.

Nothing will ever beat the cancer awareness mercy skin. Genuinely criminal to say the money is going towards the cancer foundation and when the foundation saids hey it’s okay to make it free to not only say not but then never show the skin in game ever again. That is the scummiest thing to do. Especially when there’s players who wanna support the cause or going through it themselves and want the skin to cheer themselves up wit their comfort character

Overwatch 2 is kinda being dumb, I feel like if their gonna bring back a rare skin they should give the og owners a re-color so they can separate ogs and non ogs who have the skin, for example fortnite does this a lot.

I been playing since 2016 and have every single Blizzcon, weekly challenge, and time-exclusive skin. I personally don’t care if they bring them back, you can’t sell/trade them anyways so there is no monetary value and I have more pressing things in my life to worry about than virtual cosmetics.

Wait WHAT?! I saw the aqua skin in the hero menu when I was considering the Fuschia skin, and literally didn't buy it as I was expecting the aqua one to go up for sale soon and I massively preferred it. I think the aqua one looks great - I had no idea it'd never be put on the store. Wild.

To answer the controversy question excluding Noire and Medic Brig. That's why ppl care about what other people do with their money cause it tells the seller that "This is okay do this. Idc how much you charge". Hence the abysmal prices. A side note: imo opinion the WoW skins of Genji and Symmetry are THE rariest skins of the 7 yrs I've played this game. I only met 2 players who have Genji's Wow skin and only 1 who has Symmetra's wow skin.

That Gingerbread Bastion skin came out in my first few days of playing so I didn't know how to get the gold coins, I still feel bad that I missed out, it's an alright skin

I don't get why the bastion skin was bad you can easily get coins from weekly challenges

The mercy skin should only be obtainable for donating to the breast cancer charity. To just make it earnable would be in poor taste, but I do think they should do a second round for charity and to give other players a chance to donate that would be amazing!

Hell was is disappointing when they gave demon hunter sombra to everyone. FOR FREE. Back then I pretty much bought the virtual blizzcon ticket solely to get that incredible skin for my main. I don’t think there’s a problem with limited edition stuff s as long as everything’s that was Limited edition stays it. As in, i think it’s great that streamers got special skins but how come the skins that were limited edition in overwatch one (event weekly challenge skins) are just sold regularly when other stuff is never coming back? same with like the ESports skins like Zen’s and stuff. It made sense to come back at the end of OVW1 but not necessarily in OVW2. And even then I don’t have a giant problem with that as long as no other Esports or Overwatch League skins are locked and trapped behind not being able to buy them.

I personally say exclusive skins is a stupid marketing design as at some point people who join the game much later will learn of them and learn that if they would've found this game earlier, they maybe could've gotten that skin. Sometimes, depending on the reasoning, they can work, but only with specific reasoning, and the ones that don't fit the criteria should be available at some point or another.

Yes exclusive skins should be a thing. I have a bunch of rare skins over the years like pink mercy and all the owl special skins like alien zarya. Honestly overwatch should have a trade market system like csgo/rocket league. Being able to trade your cosmetics and other stuff would be awesome. Cause the only way to get skins that will never return is to buy an account which is technically against terms of service. I highly doubt blizzard would notice or care though.

I would absolutely love it if Blizzard added a trade system. I mean, I got this last Season’s Battle Pass just for the Lifeweaver victory pose but now I have a bunch of skins I don’t like/want. Before, I would say it would never happen, but maybe now that it’s F2P, there is a small chance of a trading system being implemented. Small chance though.

My opinion is that these are just cosmetic items with not in game advantage. So i dont value any of the skins at all, even the rare ones. I save my coins and buy one from time to time. But it isnt a priority to seek these in my opinion.
