Dynamic analysis is extremely useful for anything recorded with a real drummer (you'll still probably have to adjust the grid but it'll be closer), or anything recorded with an analogue drum machine, where you might get small tempo fluctuations. Worth knowing if you play any older electronic music from the 80s and early 90s.

Just a quickie - Is there any setting on Tempo fader to make it more accurate? In my mixer, if I'm trying to get from 126 to 128, it will always land on 128.02 or 127.08 but not accurately on 128. *CORRECTION* Clubs Don't "generally have Blue wave forms." The color of the wave forms are always based on the setting you choose on your Rekordbox.(RBG,BLUE or 3BAnd). I prefer RBG, that's the only reason I say anything.(I'm not hating) The rest of the video was very useful.

On the setting at about 7min 55 sec, how can I make this effect apply to when a song ends like say the last track of my set I want to just let it play I want it to sound like an engine is powering down, also when saving these settings to my usb how can I make vinyl on when importing my usb settings? I noticed when I apply my settings vinyl doesn't auto turn on. Also, do you have any videos of configuring Flstudio or ableton/daw to connect your deck to record? • @giulio2lavendetta

gain/trim sets how much the sound signal gets amplified. You might find that some tracks have simply been recorded at lower/higher volumes than others, so you use trim to take care of that. What I like to do is to have the tracks always just under the orange level from the volume LED bars, sometimes letting some frequencies to orange when I want to underline those particular sounds. You never want red, that measn the amplification is so much that you start to loose signal quality. A lot of people actually set the gain to the max trying to be as loud as possible, but it will just make the track sound worse. cheers

Thanks for that…. I pretty much do and understand everything you wrote… was just wondering more about the software setting… nothing more…. U know what it’s like… so many settings to mess with and not wanting to change stuff…. I’ve kinda stuck on -3db in the software. I find recording sets this gives the best sound and also plenty of head room for low recorded tracks. Shame there is no standard on digital files.

If I have the tempo fader of the "stuck" track in the middle, I take it all the way down, then all the way back to middle as fast as possible. This seems to reset it. But remember, if the tempo of the track you're trying to manipulate is different than the one you had as the Master, you may end up in left field somewhere. Keep an eye on that tempo once it's freed up..

trim shouldnt be at midnight. trim should only be turned up so that the LED indicators hover around 0dBU. sure it might be at midnight for some tracks, but it might need to be a bit more or a bit less for others. it's one of the things that DJs do that sound guys just do not understand. it might look symmetrical, but it has nothing to do with unity. you adjust it based on the level output. the eqs should always be at midnight because it is set to be at its nominal output (zero) at midnight. the Master level as well is something that DJ's always put to midnight. that is wrong. it actually is marked on most if not all pioneer equipment.. 0 DB is about 2 o'clock. that is unity. set your master to unity, and leave it there. you shouldn't have to adjust that at all again. volume control can be done from the individual channels from there on in. this ensures you get the best SNR (signal to noise ratio). one DJ at my club kept adjusting the master to midnight and turning up the individual channels louder to make up for the lost volume.. and I lost my mind with this guy. after the party, he told me he likes it looking symmetrical I was gobsmacked by the stupidity of that statement. I said dude I don't care how it looks it's how it sounds. you're turning up the noise floor if you're turning down the master and turning up individual channels. it is ridiculous to base your DJing on how the knobs look to you.. so many people have just gotten bad habits or learned the wrong thing and stuck with it. if you ever play a gig and you have a sound guy that is giving you advice, listen. it's like a free Pro lesson if they're giving you advice. another DJ argued with me that she has been DJing for over 20 years and she knows how the levels work. no I was blunt and I said well I don't care how long you've been DJing, I look young but I'm actually in my 40s I'm having DJing much longer than she has. but I just told her then you've been doing it wrong for 20 years. you don't want to piss off the sound guy. because they report back to the owner and promoters. and if you think that squaring off against the sound guy is going to get you a head or get you more bookings, think again. the sound guy is going to be protecting the sound system from damage and club owners will always choose that over some DJ that has a chip on his or her shoulder

this is one of the channels that I would suggest you guys pay attention to. this Aussie knows his shit. even when he says turn the trim to midnight, he's talking about problem solving a 'no sound' situation. there's another Australian DJ channel that consistently gives the wrong advice.. I'm not going to name names or anything... but this is one of the channels that consistently gives proper advice.
