This is a great tutorial, a little hard to follow at times but all tutorials can be hard especially with such a detailed model. I believe this is the best Lord of Change tutorial out there and if you invest in the contrast paints since they are pretty expensive you won't be disappointed in the result of all of Whipsters tutorials I have quite a bit to add to make your life much easier, I would advise ANYONE attempting this tutorial to go watch his video on how to use contrast paints effectively before starting Extra things to have/do to make this easier. Again you can just follow his tutorial the way it is this is just the stuff that helped me. Extra Bottle of Contrast Medium: This is really useful when doing this tutorial and probably all of tutorials that mix medium with contrast paints. When he tells you ratios alot them you cant see him mix and in addition to that the colors are not usually close to his when you add them. I used a dropper for example on the 2:1 Ultra Marines blue for the body and it was way too dark but if you just add additional contrast medium you can get the exact color he is using. You will see this alot that some of his colors are different to the ratios listed. Make sure the medium is shaken because it sometimes has a cloudy white film that I think it makes when applying it. Some of the steps that this works on are the Wlydwood step and the Akelian Green. I used a wet pallet and found it worked much better when it was damp underneath rather then wet it seemed to eventually mix with the contrast paints to make more of a wash Contrast paints begin to dry after about 8 seconds of applying them. If you try to go back over them you will start to leave streaks on the model. This is why I recommend the contrast medium. Since you can apply 1-2 layers of thinned down paints to get the desired color. I kept a bottle of Wraithbone close. If you water it down well you can get a smooth mix and redo some of the places where you mess up with the contrast paints, since they don't block any detail. If I brushed over an area and made it a shade darker with the contrast paints I just used the extra contrast medium to get the color back to what it should be. Make sure to take the wings slow and especially make sure that the hoeth blue highlights are visible on the turquoise by just making sure it's dark enough. The dry brushing on the back of the wings is also applied to the front and the warp lightning with contrast medium I am pretty sure is tesseract glow as the warp lightning is definitely not that color. For the wings don't worry to much about the base colors as a lot of the details such as the gold and flames sort of draws your eyes away from the blue and turquoise so they don't have to be perfect

the tip with thinning contrast medium in and just do 2 coats helped me much on the wings! Less with how dark it was but to get a way smoother coat! Thank you! :)

Dude, I am really happy you made these videos for the greater deamons. As each of these are done amazingly well. Seriously when contrast first came out. I can see no one thought they look for this level of quality. I need fo ask, how do you use the paint so well? Trying my best they always come up with spots, even if my brush control is as good as possible. Do I just need to really shake the pot like crazy?

I find you can buy a vortex mixer off Ali express for pretty cheap (I got mine for about £29/30) which I've found has reduced the personal stress from all the shaking, provided you don't do too many in a short succession. Though I believe mixing a little medium also helps with the flow of some of the more concentrated pigment. I think it's more about directionality; you don't want to revisit areas with a stroke from another direction and preferably with each stroke leaving the model.

Great way to achieve a classic GW look. I'd involve some more yellows for the magic orbs on the wings and the staff fire "holding" the staff head. Tzeentch loves yellow, but it not a fan of green. Green is nurgles colour and is considered a lesser colour by Tzeentch.

I've found your videos at exactly the same time I've impulse-purchased a mono-Tzeentch WHFB Daemon army, so that was handy! Any advice for painting the LoC as Kairos Fateweaver (his wings are more red-ish pink)?

What a great looking paint job. I just finished building my big bird and will be following this guide. I am thinking of finishing it all with a matt varnish though to help preserve the model while transporting and playing. Is that a good idea or would it ruin it you think?

How do you mix the blends of medium and paint? Just use a dropper/pipet?

My ultramarine/tallassar blue got way too dark. Any suggestions how to lighten the middle feathers?
