You only get the proper ending if you complete it on the hardest difficulty setting. A friend of mine and I managed this (eventually) back in the day but it took several attempts!

Contra 3 isn't one of the easy Games...

@@geovani60624 It's interesting, how much of a different meaning, the word "Demo" meant, back then. Imagine what a kid would think about those old demos, now days. Example: Kid walks away from the game, while at the title screen. The kid comes back with snacks, and see's the game playing its self. Kid freaks out and thinks his room is haunted.

Dunno, game is hard but not THAT hard. It's about memorization. Unlike Contra Hard Corps, which is memorization PLUS good reflexes (because of how fast that game is).

12:00 - I'm cursed to spend my entire adulthood inexplicably unable to forget its official name is the "Tri-Transforming Wall Walker". I don't know why I cannot forget this. It's the only enemy in the game who's name I know.. apparently forever. Long live the Tri-Transforming Wall Walker!

Its successor had _a few_ great games, most notably Zelda OoT and Zelda MM, which are arguably significantly better than Zelda ALttP. But the SNES had _many_ great games. Even the generally praised Super Mario 64 wasn't remotely as fun as Super Mario World in my opinion. (Jumping on enemies' heads is so imprecise in 3D that they had to give Mario the ability to punch. Generally there is much more walking and much less jumping because of 3D.) And the two Rareware shooters aged badly. The developers hadn't really figured out 3D at the time, and they didn't realize that not everything needed to be converted into 3D. (That comes from someone who had a N64 but never owned a SNES.)

Manays i actually think super mario world isnt as great as smb3 or super mario 64. The only problem switch has is 3rd party r rereleasing compared to making new games.

It's probably something like 積極的に戦おう which sounds fine in Japanese but translating 〜しょう/おう to "Let's" makes it sound like an educational children's TV program instantly

Pleeeease do more of these drunk let's play videos!! They're SO entertaining to watch, it really feels like watching one of your friends showing off that they still can play like a bad ass in spite being drunk lol!

@@dude_8434 I DO have the original SNES version of _Super Probotector: Alien Rebels_ (which is what it was originally called in PAL regions) and the manual calls it the Crush-Gun. I have just this moment looked at the manual online for the game under its original _Contra III_ title and even that calls the same weapon a Crush-Gun.

H stands for Homing gun which chases the enemy. It is just like the enemy chasers in Metal Slug. S stands for spread gun.

C3 gives me that true arcade approach - the game you're playing is so challenging, yet you know it's not impossible so you keep coming back for more. Tremendous SNES visuals & audio, it's Contra NES on steroids. I still can't defeat the missile/rocket boss fml.

Hey SNESDRUNK i have a question for you concerning this game when you die and you switch your regular machine gun before you do does it take away both of you gun upgrades or not? bc in contra 4 it only takes away the gun you had equipped during your death.

Fun video. I always enjoy watching other people who love this game play it. Two things I noticed in your gameplay. One: The rockets that "Always kill you" before the Tri-Transforming Wall Walker? Just shoot them. Just shoot directly down. They'll never hit you. Two, you can hold R to root your character, which lets you shoot on the diagonal without moving.

Was this commonly used an in-store demo at like Target? I remember being amazed by something that let you hop into a tank in the early nineties. Was there anything else that let you hop into a vehicle?

Love this game tons of nostalgia. First game I ever played actually when i was like 5 or 6. Never could get past the wall climbing boss robot thing though.

I'm a big fan of your reviews and respect your work in the subreddit. With that said, this is one of my favorite games ever, and this is my favorite review you ever done. I usually don't like "let's play" videos. But this is my favorite review of yours. It captures exactly why the game is so awesome, and then, your reason to just play the darn thing is fantastic. The mini boss on level 3 that blew your mind is the same mini boss you knocked down moments before - back with a vengeance.

The C "Crusher Bomb" is the strongest weapon although it comes out slow but in quick short bursts can do loads of damage.

I loved playing Easy 3 lives and continuing on until I ran out of continues. I made it to the end boss on Hard but could never beat him that final time! Love this game!

That background of the first part of level 3 is my favorite.

You are a good person sir. You're very confident in who you are. As someone who is learning, i appreciate the inadvertent exposure to it, via your videos. 😎🤟🤘

I would also hope that you figured out that in the top down levels, you can duck enemy fire by holding B. With no need for ducking behind obstacles

You can hold the bumper buttons to station your self so you won't move when you are in a angle or aiming at things.

How many lives is it preferable to start with?

In the Japanese version, the guy doesn't want to attack aggressively, he says what amounts to "Lets get those bastards!" Couldn't get that line in the US with NOA at that time though.

That wholesome Midwestern accent plus the profanity is hilarious.

In November of 2020, I beat this game on hard mode for the first time. I didn't know about the bonus boss! I am so relieved to have finally finished this game. I also beat Double Dragon II: The Revenge on NES on Supreme Warrior difficulty in the same week, and fuck, that had a hidden boss, too!

This is my favorite game of all time.. As a kid I used to pause the game and listen to the music. I recently downloaded the soundtrack to level 3.its a tough game, especially for kids but exciting and rewarding. I still play it on my phone to this day

This game was one of the coolest games ever growing up in the 90s, the action was soo intense and very fun, one of the best games ever!! Classic.

Dude, that 'wall climbing bastard' IS the same thing as what you fought before below. It came back. That is what is so epic. Music is perfection as well.

On stage 3, right as you beat the wall climber and get to the top. I used to attach a rubber band to the fire button, move to the very left of the screen, and farm lives for the next stages 😂 would walk away for about an hour and come back to max lives and lose them all instantly hahaha

Lot of fun watching the playthrough! I should try this one drunk on hard for fun (still taking 7 lives though).

The phrase "Let us attack aggressively" reminds me of ""All Your Base Are Belong To Us".

Oh man I love this game so much action I love all the Jump'n'Shoot action and playing it with your friends.

Is this the same contra on snes classic? If so I gotta get one. Lol

I remember playing this game when I was really young with me and my brother and was really hard and now you can play on the Super Nintendo classic edition and it brought a lot of memories but I have to play it alone because I don't have any friends Cinema laser so I appreciate this game a lot because I wasn't always like this

Love this game. Used to be able to beat it without continues!

After years of trying I've actually beaten Contra and Super C now, but I think Contra 3 is on another level of difficult, but it could be because i haven't been playing it obsessively. How would you rate the three in terms of difficulty? We all know Hard Corps is the hardest so no need to mention that one :P

Johan Öberg I would say Super C is probably the easiest, followed by Contra, and Contra III being the hardest of the three Nintendo Contras. But like you said, Hard Corps is the hardest one by far.

At 5:30 his laugh syncs up with the turtle’s animation 😂

I found out a lot of people didn't know they had 2 guns slots and you could switch between them and If you die ( i could be wrong) but you don't lose that other slotted gun.

You’re better drunk than I am sober full of caffeine and having nine hours of sleep. Kudos.

I've recently played it for the first time, instantly loved it, and now looked up a review on KZread for it So I've just learnt that most people don't like the top-down stage - but that was my favorite stage so far!!

We always called the first boss “the turtle With Problems”

I have this game for my Gameboy Advance SP and it's my favorite Contra 🎮

Not from the SNES era, I know, but my favorite line from any game ever is from Blood Dragon: "Blind me with your cyber-love."

This game blew my mind when I was a kid. I liked the top-down levels, they were fun.

You should continue this way of reviewing, just put more emphasis in explaining your thoughts on any given game. More than enough gameplay.

I have never played this game and i grew up with super nintendo lol. Ive heard u talk about this game a ton so even tho Run and Gun games aren't really my thing after watching this video like five times and laughing my ass off over the past few months since I discovered you I have decided to download it for my emulator. I decided 2 watch the opening cutscene for the first time before I started playing and hear your voice every time I see that cutscene and it cracks me up I haven't really buckled down and tried to Beat it more have just gotten through the first and second level on1 continue but I never use the continues so I can try to get good at the first couple levels before moving on it is very intense I played it on hard with 7 Lives for shits and giggles and got creamed then tried easy and still got creamed lol so i switched it back to normal and have gotten semi decent at it. I was quite sheltered as a kid so i love this channel so i can find all the shit i missed out on due to my parents not letting me get certain games. Anyway im about to go attack aggressively. Nah maybe ill attack passively who knows lol

This game was siiiiick. This is meant to be a tricky game but when I was a kid I battered through this in a weekend. I suspect that as I have gotten older my skills have reduced significantly...
