actually, contour doesn't always have to be cool-toned itself, just cooler than your skin-tone. for example, there are contours that lean a bit more towards the yellow or olive tones. my recommendation on warm skin-tones is always the dior backstage contour palette. the shade on the bottom left is an olive-leaning contour that compliments a lot of warm skin-tones. you should give it a try! it was a game-changer for me. good luck! 💚

What color cream contour for caucasian women in their 60's?

Finally someone gave a really good comparison. I was still confused

Contour will have an ashy/ grey color or undertone with absolutely no sparkle or glitter whereas bronzer will have brown warmth to it

Well this was useful af and didn’t know I needed this but now I will never see my contour or bronzers as the same

What contour did you use and what shade?

Thankfully someone finally said it, contouring with bronzer just doesn't really work, bronzer is a highlight it doesn't create shadows like contour does

@pale star 8 it is a highlight aha it's shimmery to reflect light and highlight and it's also meant to add colour back into your face for a highlighted sun kissed look, it's definitely not a contour and is very apparent in light

it honestly depends i do agree that sometimes contouring with a bronzer can look like a harsher streak or muddy but thats why i love makeup and when im in a time crunch bronzing everything without a contour sometimes is the way to go 🫶🏼🤷🏻✨

While what your saying is true, the demo I'd argue was a result of the difference in the products themselves. One (LYS) is HIGHLY pigmented, the other one is sheer. (Merit) I do agree contour shades should 'usually' be cooler, or a neutral shade, but some skin tones, actually do require some warmth.

How is it different for people with warm undertone vs. cool undertone ?

I think the difference is all in the brush

Light bounces off the bronzer. Matte causes shadow. Shadow pushes things back. Lightened things come forward to the eye. (That's why, not because of the amount of product.)

Last time I went to Sephora I asked what contour they recommend and the dude gave me bronzer. It works well but I’ve tried to contour with it so many times until realizing that doesn’t work…. I think I should go buy some real contour😒

If you're holding up the shades and they look virtually the same... Then they are. Lots of brands mislabel bronzer as contour. Neither of those are cool toned enough.

Well it did look natural on you. you have a warm undertone, so bronzer also work as contour on you hehe

For some reason if you click "View Products" on the video, sometimes it shows Merit and sometimes it only shows LYS. Weird. But anyway, if you click the actual description, she wrote the shade name for Merit, it's called "Clay" .....I hope this helps!!
