Continuous Probability Distributions - Basic Introduction
This statistics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into continuous probability distributions. It discusses the normal distribution, uniform distribution, and the exponential distribution. The probability is equal to the area under the curve and the total area under the curve is equal to 1. This video gives you some formulas that you might find helpful. It also briefly discusses the difference between continuous random variables and discrete random variables.

I like all your teaching methods. You may consider writing textbook on Statistics or any Science subject of your choice. You are very special in impacting knowledge.
This is much easier to understand than my online professors

A lot of college professors are just like "oh well let's summarise this lecture in super-formal and super-general terms", and write everything almost as if they write it as memos for other professors instead of to students.

what i don't think so
Learned more in the first three seconds than during the last 15 years of my life.
Thank you for all of your videos, they are so clear and have helped me tremendously studying for the FE exam.
every time I'm dealing with statistics, your videos come to save me. and your voice is so beautiful which makes learning even more enjoyable! thank you!
thank you so much sir. i understood literally nothing when my university lecturer was teaching these. but your videos instantly made sense and everything was easier. thank you so much and please keep up the good work! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for making these videos, really helpful with my online courses!
Thank you very much for making stats sooooooo simple, Sir you are a true Master we are indebted to you.
my high school teacher could never explain it this clearly, thanks!
This a perfect example of why giving back is so important, follow jg's lead and help others learn this material
this lesson will be on exam in next week so you made understand thank so much you are generous offering free video
I have a Midterm tomorrow, thank you so much!!!!
i must be real dumb cause even this video could not help me

Hey man, I appreciate all your videos, is there anyway you can do more statics engineering videos, it's really tough

My lecturer sux so much, thanks for the video. you are better than my lecturer.
This was so helpful, thanks!
A great tutorial for the topic.
This guy keeps saving my life since highschool
Thanks for all your videos
thanks for saving my life...this is perfect
Could you please make a video about eigenvalues and eigenvectors ?

Awesome explanation
Thank u so much, can u plz upload Confidence Intervals
Thanks for your helping me,
Thank you!! You rock.
Very nice lesson
VERY CLEAR
Thank you
Surprised you didn't sneak in the standard deviation of the exponential distribution is equal to the mean of the distribution.
Thank you very much !
you saved my life
Hold up. So if Lambda and the Mu sign are interchangeable to represent mean. Does it mean i can also write Mu=1/Lamda
This is better than my prof with 20+ years of exp
I feel like videos like these are the future of education. 1/3 of the courses I get in University, by remote, teaches badly. It's money and time wasted.
this is GOLD
Life saver video....
Great summary for exam❤
God bless this man
Sir , can you pls make a KZread class on multinomial distribution ( the mean and the variance ) to be precise. Thank you sir
Can someone help me on his algebra1,2,3 playlist. I don't think if it's in the proper order. I'm trying not to miss any of the topics.
You're doing God's work bro. Or really, Science's. You need to come teach my Professor.
What software does he use to write on the black background ?
looking for the playlist but can not find it
Thanks!
this is dope, my actual prof in stats very bad.
ur my savior
What is mean formula in exponential distribution
ive learned more in these videos than my actual prof. bruh
thanks
Why do we divide the standard deviation of a uniform distribution with square root of 12??
@pganesh8318
Жыл бұрын
That's the formula You can check the derivation on the net if you are too curious about it
Keep up to work, it helps out allot of people you need more support tbh. Like more likes lmao
W/ respect to the exponential distribution, what is "e"?
@dialglex

"e" is Euler's number, which is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 2.71828
Uniform distribution is a type of discrete distribution right? Correct me if I am wrong

Yes correct, there’s a continuous one and a discrete uniform distribution

7:52 why 12? for when we are finding the standard deviation
This guy makes me ask myself why I even go to class....
(Unsurprisingly,) you only cover absolutely continuous distributions. The other principal type of continuous distribution, singular distributions, is not even mentioned. To be honest, they are a mathematical curiosity and I've only heard of them myself today. 😄 But now it appears to me that starting with continuous distributions in general first, i.e. the distribution function, and then going from there to absolutely continuous distributions (such that the derivative is the probability density function) arguably makes more sense didactically than starting with the density function and using integral calculus to then explain distribution functions. For instance, if you start with the distribution function F(x), then P(x ∈ [a,b]) = F(b) - F(a), which is simpler (and more general) than the integral approach (area under the curve).
but how do you calculate the area under the curve??? 2:08

I'm here because my lecturer is too lazy to explain this topic using his own voice and instead, he used robot's voice which make me hard to understand
