i was so disappointed in reckless 😩 truly nothing happened plot-wise and it felt so back and forth. you definitely voiced a lot of my issues with it as well

You articulated exactly my thoughts on Reckless: they were together for so long that we lost the yearning, and sometimes the banter turned into bickering. I still ate it up but definitely liked the first one more!

that we me when i first started reading 😭😭 now i’m in the middle of like 11.

I loved reckless but I do feel like the powerless series would’ve been way stronger as a duology versus a trilogy

It only took four words from Kai for my jaw to drop and start tearing up. That series will be the death of me inevitably😭

my favorite days are when sara AND des post and sara reading reckless in this video is making it 10x better

ahh i love your videos sm sara!! everything you said about reckless made sense to me, i had a lot of similar thoughts regarding it lacking the action that powerless had! i also did guess the ending 😭 but i have a feeling fearless is going to be crazy and i'm so ready for it!!

I loved Reckless so much and I do believe there was a reason why Lauren Roberts focused on them growing together during this journey which we will learn in the next book.

i've read some graphic novels that i really liked but none of them made me feel like heartstopper did... the ones that come close to it are the tea dragon society and the magic fish. i also liked anya's ghost, laura dean keeps breaking up with me, fangs, chef's kiss, cheer up! love and pompoms and crema

I loved that I read it before watching this cause I got to enjoy it with you and watch the spoilers. So good! I loved the book so much, knowing that it’s YA and an in-between book in the series. However I agree with all your points and you’re right it’s basically just a love story with minor plot points. I agree about Reckless. It’s good but you hit a point in the center that at its core is just repetition in different locations.

I completely agree about reckless bc I just finished it and it felt like boom! Something had happened adrenaline moment and then banter and kiss and that just kinda happens every 2 seconds

I completely agree with you on Reckless. Like it was just back & forth banter to the point where the poppy scene didn't hit as hard bc i was so used of it. Like I love what Kai says but like the book was only banter & pretty words so it didn't surprise me at all. I feel like Lauren threw banter in Reckless bc she knows we all love it but she didn't develop the plot enough. I know she said that Fearless is gonna be more chaotic but I even doubt it bc there were a lot of promises for Reckless as well. But we'll see 😅💗

I’m recently reading the off-campus series by Elle Kennedy and I’m in love with it so much so far!!!

Raina Telgemeier has amazing YA graphic novels, my favs are Sisters, Drama, and Guts. They remind me of Heartstopper in the way that they discuss more serious topics through a YA lens. Super fun plots with amazing art. Highly recommend!!!!

The Tea Dragon Society is such a cute graphic novel series. Highly recommend!

If you want more graphic novels, a great romance series is Lore Olympus. It follows Hades and Persephone. There are 6 (i think) volumes out already but there is SO MUCH MORE that can be read online

The Graham effect has a third book coming out next year. I loved both books that are out now but out of the two I LOVED the dixon rules so much more

they aren't specifically graphic novels but there are a couple manga series i really recommend and i think they are pretty similar to graphic novels - Yona of the Dawn is a kind of slow-burn fantasy romance and A Sign of Affection is a romance about a college student with hearing loss. they are both really great but Yona has over 40 volumes so its a big commitment!
