🧶 Continental or English style knitting?

This is a question that comes up a lot. I personally knit in English style but there are occasions in which being able to knit continental style comes in handy, like when doing colourwork.

Continental knitting
I've never been able to figure out why people do it the other way at all. It just seems so inefficient

I knit Portuguese style and it's a whole nother level of efficiency over English and Continental. I don't know why more people don't use it other than people tend to stick with what they know.
Thank you, but I think I will stick with the English style, as I am right-handed, and holding the yarn in my right hand feels like second nature.

Right handed? Like most...what do you meen? Continental is made for righthanded efficiency😂using the right hand,the most🤗
I'm stuck on continental purling. Any advice?

Try the Norwegian purl. It allows you to not have to move the left hand. :)

I move my indexfinger (the one with the yarn) downwards / towards myself, when i pull the yarn through the loop. You might be worried that you’ll strain your finger from all the movement, but I haven’t had that problem yet, and I’ve been knitting 8-12 hours daily the past 8 months, so I wouldn’t be too worried. I can link to helpful video of different ways to purl continental, that includes my method and a bunch of others as well. Just let me know if that would be helpful😊

It may not be as eyecatching to the layperson as cooking or other crafts, but knitting itself can be quite relaxing. Not to mention the pride you feel in your end result, just like cooking.
