------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

@@J-BiRTH Getting the three of them in the hammock for a short period (because they only have to be in it at the end) is easier than trying to stack heavy items, especially on top of someone. The fact is that if they had worked together to balance in the hammock they would've had more weight, so Lou was right. I know it's a timed challenge, which is why it is more beneficial to work to balance inside the hammock than use what little time you have to find and then drag heavy stuff back. The heavier it is, the harder it is for them to actually bring it back and put it into the hammock. Challenges like this are the epitome of Taskmaster, they show how people think differently, but also how the pressure makes people panic to the detriment of the task. Taking a second to think and weigh out the options would've been the best for them, but he was too worried about doing *something* that he didn't stop to think about what would be most effective.

Him being angry is a part of his life as a comedian. I don't know if you've seen his stand-up, but essentially he's always playing a character (like Richard Ayaode or Alex Horne). He really loves the show, he talked about how excited he was and how much fun he had, and the others have talked about how hilarious they found him. You can see the difference in energy when people are genuinely angry at each other (Lou and Iain) versus when James is playing it up for laughs. He never winks or acts sarcastic to giveaway the joke, he plays it totally straight which I find unbelievably funny. You can see Greg losing it as well whenever Jame gets angry.

The erasor STILL EXISTS, SOMEWHERE IN SOME PIPE. If someone were to take it out of the little toilet paper he wrapped it in (to protect it from damage I guess????? which is the complete opposite of TRYING TO ERASE SOMETHING) it would still probably be useable as an eraser. IT'S STILL AN ERASER! IT'S THERE. IT'S NOT ERASED, IT'S ONLY REPLACED. The bonus points for Joe do not make up for how completely UNFAIR it was to actually count the others' points. @@iliketrains3495 Agreed, this years special was v good, to the extent I wanted a full series with the contestants. esp Adrian Chiles who was like a grumpier version of Hugh Dennis (one of my fave contestants), but really, they were all great. The Baroness was a surprise hit at how naturally funny she was (sometimes its: 'I'm rich, see differences' which can work but it a bit limiting) and the Paralympian Jonnie was exceptionally good at tasks (and was ROBBED by Gerg for not getting more points), pity he wasn't well enough to do the studio and who doesn't love Claudia's chaotic energy, Leshurr's curious obsession with salmon was most amusing. A standout NY special imo. Hopefully the new season is good... I'm worried about the (very) new talents, none of which I've heard of before.

I was completely red faced and in tears by the end of it and I'm so impressed I didn't spit my drink everywhere.
