Watching almost seven years later. Thank you! This is the best video I've found to explain the motions.
Hi! Ignore my strange fingers. I am double jointed so they bend in ways fingers shouldn't. But you can try stretching your fingers. Pull each finger back one at a time. A lot of people do things like that to stretch their hand out for piano or guitar. In the meantime, keep practicing. Also you might best like the two finger cradle. You can also stretch your fingers by pulling them into what looks like the splits. That way you will have a bigger hole to hold the ball in your two finger cradle.
I love the smile right after explaining that the Vulcan cradle is a thing that exists :D Thank for making these tutorials, they are being of great help.
Thank you for your lovely tutorials. I have been a juggler for 20+ years but never heard of crystal ball / contact juggling until recently. Love and respect!
Jut bought my first contact ball today, was clueless. Now im having a great day at work watching your tutorials, nice job and many thanks :)
I should have known id find your tutorials on here! Picked up my first ball from the lab the other day! I have never been more intrigued by a prop. Thanks for these amazing tutorials.
This is a 75mm acrylic. If you're not planning on doing any stage performing, then it should suit your needs! If you're planning on stage work I would recommend a 100mm because it's easier to see.
Ive just started contact juggling, and i love your tutorials! And i wanna thank you for making them. So thank you :)

Thank you so much for all your tutorials. I have just started with contact and watch your vids while practicing. Your videos are great! My best to you.
I enjoy watching your videos so much! When i saw the first one about two hours ago i read the name of this way of juggling the first time. Previously i knew it only from TV! i´m looking forward to your next videos!
"It is really important to feel comfortable having your ball on the back of your hand" Love that bit hahahaha. You're great, thanks for your videos!

I had never even heard of contact juggling until today. Very nice! :)
Don`t listen the idiots.. your tutorials are greats and are very helpful for novices!! Keep going!! Kisses!
Hi, great videos. I just officially started contact juggling but I've been unknowingly doing it for a long time. Nothing major just what you showed in the video but I never knew about other hand positions. I've been doing the first cradle and your right it does make the wiper harder. Thanks again for the information video. I'm off to watch all your other ones.
I love your instructions they help! also I liked to help keep my ball stabilized by using my pinky and keeping it gripped on the ball for a short period of time between butterflies.
David Bowie brought me here….

Very helpful. Thank you.
You help me so much thanks for the videos!!!
Great vid. Thank you!
You have inspired me to learn
omg thank you for this!
Love your videos. You're so cool! :P
Very good tutorials (you got patience to explain) and would love to learn it as a hobby. As to be learning .... what would you recommend?. buy the ball? or start with an orange? for example
thank's a lot 🌼
great!
Thanks for your helpful clips. You're kind to take the time to make them - although something tells me they are a joy to make when you have a skill to share. Good work! Your moves are great!
thanks very clear tutorial, :)
thx for the tips and quick response :) the 2 finger cradle doesnt allow me to move my hand sideways.. keeps falling off anyways I guess ill keep stretching and hope my fingers will become more flexible :D also, I remember watching a vid of you last week in which you said you would use your left hand instead of your dominant right hand, how did that go? because my non-dominant hand is really bad in comparison aswell :p great channel btw, I like your vids keep it up
I bought an 100mm acrylic ball. It's super heavy but since I want to learn I've decide to simply get over how heavy it is. This means I can only practice in about 15 minutes sessions before both hands become fatigued. How long do you think it will take me to learn the butterfly and wiper?
I love your laugh.
thank you for this tutorial, it really helped me, but it's sometimes very frustrating. I can do the first step of the craddle for instance but i can't reversed my hand back and get the ball in my palm again.Maybe just patience...

Don't give up!
Can you give me any tips for this? I'm really struggling getting it from palm to cradle and getting it to look smooth, it just feels clunky at the moment, I can't really figure out how to fix it
Hi, I just started CJing about a week ago, I used to do normal juggling.. But I fele like my fingers are not flexible enough.. for example the cradle, I see you are able to stretch your fingers up making it easy to balance the ball. Me on the other hand I cant get my fingers to stretch so I kinda get a much flatter surface making it harder to balance.. I can do the butterfly at the moment but i feel like it could get way smoother if I could stretch my fingers more.. any tips or exercices? thx!!
thks for the tips ;)
How big is the ball you're using here? I'm looking into buying my first contact ball but I can't decide what size to get. The one in this video looks like a good size. I have fairly large hands (long fingers). I did watch your video about choosing a contact ball but I'm still not sure. I'm mostly interested in isolations and such, not really in stuff like body rolls.
Just got my CBall, I'll start today I suppose this is like lvl 1, let's see where this takes me in a year, might try the "Let's be left handed!" too, just for fun! :D
im trying to learn how to do the windxsheld wiper and i keep drop my ball i cracked it so its just siting on my slef
I think you should pay particular attention to the level of your wrist and arm, as well as the speed that the ball is coming to your cradle from your palm. Slow it down and make sure that your elbow and wrist are not on angles that will help the ball on it's course down your arm. And when in doubt: practice your cradle more and more and more! =P
Don't listen to him! Everyone hates it when I laugh but it is actually good for your health :D
I don't even care about juggling but this girl is so cute.
I've just started contact juggling using your videos but I've run into a problem with the butterfly, when I bring the ball from my palm to the back of my hand I'm having trouble stopping it in the cradle and it starts to roll up my arm. whats the best way to stop this?
am i doing something wrong? I can't seem to stop it when making it go to the back side of my hand
i love you...lol thanx friend
Hi im from Mexico. What is the cost of one of the cristal balls of that size? Thx

A clear acrylic can range from $20 and up. There are some cheaper if you're lucky enough to find them. But usually the bigger they are, the price goes up.
What's the best way to practice this for the left hand? I'm just completely out of it.xD I can't do anything with the left hand. Just keep working on it?

I'm right-dominant too, so usually I start practicing anything new with my left hand and really easily pick it up with the right. :P
What size ball do u use
Every once and a while I play a game called "Let's be left handed!" It helps. But doing it for long periods of time is difficult because I forget... I'll have more videos coming soon! I just need to locate my tripod. It's been floating around in some unidentifiable location for about a month. That what I get for doing mass house cleaning with my left hand! I can't find anything! =P
Hello What is the name of kind of ball and where can I buy it ?

every time I do this the ball rolls away and im dying
Your fingers bend differently than mine. Sounds weird but I’m tellin ya!!

Get yourself a ball. An orange will work, sure, but they're not totally spherical.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Too bad.

Hey you're a cheater you are double jointed and are able to move your fingers backwards towards the back of the hand. I can't do that. With that said should I even attempt this type of juggling since I have kind of stubby fat hands?
@LindsayIstace
10 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yeah, I guess I'm a genetic cheat but that doesn't mean that you can't learn. You may just need more practice to compensate.
@greyvr4336
9 жыл бұрын
Lindsay Istace He's right! It's a cheat. Not that I blame you, I'd do it if I had the motion in the fingers. More directly though, I'm trying to do this, but every time I try to go palm to cradle, it rolls down my arm and falls on my bed. Can you talk a bit more about how you arrest the motion so that the ball stops on the cradle?
@LindsayIstace
9 жыл бұрын
If it's going down your arm then your hand is likely raised a bit above your elbow which creates a plane for the ball to roll. It should help if you absorb some of the momentum by dropping your hand down when switch from palm to cradle. You can also bend your wrist up a bit too if the ball starts rolling the other way.
fuck, i dont understand this xD
