As WorkSafe inspector, Brian Chamberlin explains, due to the importance of a prompt rescue, Elevating Work Platform (EWP) operators should never operate an EWP alone. A safety observer should be appointed to warn the operator of hazards and ensure prompt action in the event of a rescue.
