Wow! How amazing our little mind works and create a huge huge mechanical structures..

As a retired professional engineer my observations are:- (1) Chinese engineers are good. Their skill isn't just limited to the permanent stucture which is the arch bridge but the rigor in the temporary works. The temporary works, say the two blue vertical towers, are all adequately sized, robust with ample safety factors, superbly executed and totally removed without a trace on completion. (2) China is exploring all different designs and methods of constructions. In so doing China acquired the different skill quicker and able to develop more professional engineers and in shorter time span. (3) Chinese engineers have no cultural preference on the choice of materials so steel and reinforced concrete, post-tensioning and pre-tensioning tendons are all in use wherever situations warrant. Chinese engineers are therefore up to date with the world's contrsuction technologies. (4) To maintain a site clean and have the finished infrastructure blend in with the environment with no visible rubbish left behind are signs of good engineering management. Thus it gives the impression China's construction observes safety and has achieve a high world standard. This is visible in the finishes of their concrete structure and the protection of the steelwork. (5) Practises make perfect. The huge amount of construction work and the vast number of projects completed have propelled China to the forefront of the world's construction powers. Also China's friendly attitude towards the developing countries and the willingness to invest in their infrastructure have enabled China to export to and share its engineering with many countries. This has enhenced China's international standing in recent years. (6) China's engineering is a game changer for China as well as for other developing countries. In recent years many low income countries have managed to acquire high speed rails, metros, bridges, expressways, hospitals, sport stadiums, schools, water supplies, power plants, factories, industrial zones, power transmission lines, ports, railways,telcommunication systems and universities with the China's assistance. Some of the projects will be hugely beneficial to the host countries like the Padma bridge in Bangladesh, Peljestac bridge in Croatia, Maputo bridge in Mozambique, HSR between Belgrade and Budapest, Indonesian HSR, Thailand HSR, Laos HSR and the rail link between China and Nepal through the Himalayas. China is truly making a contribution to mankind and delivering its promise of shared world community.

As a layman, I noticed the arch is not part of a circle, yet the thousands of segments that contributed to the completed arch were all individually slightly curved perfectly to achieve the final arch shape. The round hollow sections are constructed of 35mm thick steel tubes and then the huge tubes were rolled to realise the final curve shape - outstanding

The first bridge is not what you might call a "classical" arch-bridge like for instance the bridge in Sydney. It is a mix of a arch- and a hanging bridge. But nevertheless, a beautiful impressive bridge👍.
