A technician friend clarified for me - I have the exact same machine - that the oiler is not a valve, per se, but a counterweight that moves up and down on the spring-arm. It moves up and down with the vibration of the machine to pull oil up onto the trough into which the wick is inserted. Almost like a “splashing”. The vibration of the machine was the missing part I couldn’t logically follow , trying to understand how the mechanism worked. When the machine is at rest and the user has the cap/cover and gasket off and he or she is looking down at the mechanism, it’s not apparent how it works. But it is definitely not a valve in the traditional understanding and function of a valve. It moves over a cast iron bed, without a port to open or close - as a valve would. This very video helped me to decide to purchase my machine. So THANKS Captain Andrew, 🫡skipper of the war ship🚢

Thank you for making this video. I sew my own work pants on a flat bed machine and it's so difficult to triple stitch the leg seams. I believe a post bed machine would make it much easier as you showed, and double stitched would be plenty strong I'm sure.

That post bed is really cool. I've never seen such a thing. Oh! And I was JUST going to ask if it had a regular bed, too, and now you're showing the one you made. :o)

Hi, is there a way I can contact you. I recently bought a Juki 3568A double needle sewing machine and I am having issues with the bobbin. I'm not familiar with this style case as I have only used home machines before this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a post bed double needle machine that can sew B-207 contrast thread?

The literature says that this machine will take a #24 size needle which is big enough for tex210 thread. Does that answer your question?

@Alexander Dyer In regards to function. How does the 389 RB-2 compare the 229R? Obviously the technology is better but are the quality of stitches any different? Thank you for the awesome video archives!!!

good day, happy day, really grateful for your videos, I would like you to help me, with this problem.. I have this same machine but the gauge or needle width is 5/6, and I would like to enlarge it, is it possible? I know that you say it in the video, but as the shuttles graduate, I would really like to get in touch. I am in Venezuela and I am translating the text, regards and much success

What’s with the bizarre red lighting? Fabulous content but the red light looks like something from a warship at night. I’d love to see this video with natural lighting. The closeups are even contrasty, dark and red. Super difficult to see the machine this video is about.
