That's the greatest shame of capitalism is that those 7 million starving children are starving while there's an over abundance of resources; food, clothing, wealth itself are all being produced in excess and yet children starve to death. We suffer not from a lack of resources but from a lack of just and fair distribution. Almost every single issue we face today can be traced back to capitalism!

I really hate when people mention small businesses as an argument against the exploitative nature of Capitalism. Their argument is never "small businesses don't exploit people." It is always based on the idea that it's okay when small businesses exploit people because they're smol bean, and exploiting their workers is the only way to truly succeed. While people typically frame this as an argument against the idea that Capitalism is inherently exploitative, it is really an argument that the exploitation inherent to Capitalism is actually a good and necessary thing. They generally don't want to just come out and say that, though, because it sounds completely insane, so they have to pretend they're arguing that Capitalism isn't an inherently exploitative system.

Having more people in the labor force is not something to brag about. In a world that makes sense, shouldn't labor be decreasing over time with improved technology? Shouldn't labor be at an all time low? Instead we're working more than ever before. That's because capitalism locks society's resources behind a paywall designed to make rich people richer. It doesn't matter how much technology improves, we still have to sell our labor to make money and gain access to those resources. This forces us to work multiple jobs and make up jobs that otherwise wouldn't exist.

Holy shit! Charlie Kirk was INSUFFERABLE! All he did was yell, talk over Hasan, not let him get a single word in because he couldn’t shut tf up for two seconds to let Hasan make his point. Then at the end, makes himself look like a complete idiot losing his mind at some random guy in the audience. How can anyone watch that and say he destroyed Hasan? Lmao. Charlie Kirk destroyed himself.

Welcome to debating the right wing. Where they drag you down to idiocy beat you with experience and then make a million clips they use to brainwash the masses. Straight up why there's no point in debating. It is not the vehicle for finding the truth but since everyone in this country is stupid. > Learn your talking points > Polish your rhetoric > And get ready to mud wrestle some hogs

That ending shows me one thing. It shows me that Charlie Kirk wanted so desperately to stop arguing with Hasan because he knew he was getting his back walls destroyed. 😂😂😂 He was looking for any escape from that conversation and when he saw Cenk yelling in the crowd he went for that like it was the last life vest on the Titanic.

Small businesses haven’t employed 85% of the workforce since like 1900. In 2018 it was 47.5% and the latest information I could find about today is it’s shrunk to 46%. Small business will continue to decline and Charlie Kirk has to lie to make a point.

This KZreadr actually makes a great Point even though it goes against the right's talking points. The fact that on a 60 K salary you'd have to save for 50 years not spending a dime just to buy a house. And 3 million can only get you a moderate house in some areas. Also 60k is around $28.85 an hour which is over double the average minimum wage

“85% of all jobs are created by small businesses.” That’s not a dunk.. that means if you have less that 500 employees you’re a small business. So duh it makes up the vast majority of jobs. “Poverty rates have gone lowest in the last 65 years.” The rates had been consistently falling for 5 years prior to trumps election. Credit to the prior president. “3.9 million Americans have gone off food stamps.” Again not a dunk. That figure had already been trending down for years prior to trump.

  • @dftp

I'm also wondering if those people got off food stamps because their conditions actually improved or because the program was reduced and its criteria became stricter meaning those people just got their stamps taken away and their lives made worse.

Healthcare is good in America, if you have the money. Even with insurance the costs are absurd. I've lived abroad and experienced healthcare in multiple countries without insurance and my out of pocket costs were pennies on the dollar compared to the US. I met a specialist and got an MRI for $50, and I got to KEEP my scans to go and show another doctor if I wanted a second opinion. With insurance here in the US I met a specialist and got a CT scan and it cost me $400. Without insurance I shudder to think. And I didn't' even get to keep my scans.

I don‘t know why Hasan said LASIK itself was developed by the Soviets, I think it was developed in Columbia. However, as far as I know they commonly use Excimer lasers which were first proposed by an Austrian communist and then later developed by Soviet scientists. So the laser itself for sure was a state funded invention.

that 85% of jobs are small businesses was a talking point left over from the fighting about Obamacare, and I don't think it was even true then. best I can tell with some googling, right now (or last year) less than half of private-sector jobs qualify as small business, and that's probably doing some fudgy math with what's considered "private-sector" and "small business". like... if your city used to have a robust Parks division, but now most of that is done by private contractors? yes, those are technically private sector jobs, but they didn't USED to be.
