Biracial lady here and I got redpilled over all this nonsense about white privilege. I am way more successful than my white half-siblings and my white parents. We all grew up in abject poverty. The most racist people in my life were the black girls who bullied me in school for talking white. I have always viewed this social justice movement as sus, but it’s gone off the rails in the past few years and I’m so glad I learned to push past my programmed aversion to the Republicans and actually start listening to them. People like Charlie Kirk woke me up. Now anytime I hear “white privilege” it’s like nails on a chalkboard.

The crazy part is while both polar opposites blame X race for Y problem.. African Immigrant's have higher educational attainment than even American born Asian's. Unsurprisingly, they manage families rather similar culturally. Now, who controls culture? The schools, news, and entertainment? Is American black culture truly black if they don't have the power to even force Nike to make Air Jordan's by African's regardless where they come from? I'd wager some white guilt nancy boy would pay double if not triple to appease "the gods."

I used to have a black friend and coworker. This girl was absolutely beautiful. Like, literally a fitness model. Just one of the coolest, most fun people to be around. We had to be careful about what neighborhoods we went to. If we didn't go to " good" neighborhoods, people would say the nastiest things to or about her, try to walk between us, teyp to force us off the sidewalk into the street or parking lot, try to shoulder check me, you name it. It made me absolutely furious. She didn't let it bother her, talked me or the situation down, kept a smile on her face the whole time. We weren't even dating, not holding hands, being affectionate, nothing. Just friends hanging out, having a good time but it made a certain group, especially the men furious. It was so frustrating. If by some chance you're reading this, I hope you're doing well Destiny.

I am a hispanic person, I never got grants for being Hispanic. But I did see white and black kids getting grants. But what is referred to as privilege though, is mainly how you are perceived and treated as by the system. Minorities are stopped way more by law enforcement, than white people. They are spoken to less respectful, than white people, and are ticketed with a fine which they have to pay. This has been referred to as a tax which minorities have to pay, that white people do not.

My family was considered trailer trash. Bias comes in all shapes, sizes, and shades 😅 It wouldn't be ok for me to assume all the people of a race as the same, and it's not ok for others to do so. I am a white, divorced 58 year old woman who raised 2 girls. I was the oldest daughter of 5. We were on food stamps. I joined the military so my parents didn't have to worry about me any more. I left with the clothes on my back. Worked hard, retired, both my girls graduated college with honors...they are still single, no kids, and they both have a job and live on their own. I had no privilege, they had no privilege. I'm not rich by any means, but I own my home, and I get by being a manager at the small town gas station convenience store. I can't get any one to work. If the government would quit giving out free money and parents instilled good work ethics in their children, maybe we could get somewhere.

Conservatism has always pushed equal rights for all, live and let live, be kind/courteous, try to push for a “nuclear family” and its values. Its not all that hard. A very good man to.d me when i was younger, “if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, then you wont have time to worry about what everyone else is doing”. Simply put, mind your own business and do what you know is right. Instead, liberalism tries pushing their views onto everyone else and is forcing the conservatives to speak up because they are being forced to. We would much rather do our own thing and be left alone. Instead, we are being pushed into these arguments.

I'm old enough, that I had started school, in a public school, prior to this point. I can vouch that public schools existed back then. All I have seen through my lifetime, are reports every few years about how education is worsening. I haven't seen any point where it improved under Federal control. Because of what I've seen in my own life, I fully support getting the Federal Bureaucracy out of education, and returning it to State control.

Ex was a teacher....she went to a decent college, and her "homework" was some of the easiest shit I have ever seen...I was blown away by how remedial the curriculum was...Then she started her career....If you are working at a school in a nice area where the majority of the kids aren't little thugs, it has got to be one of the easiest jobs I have ever witnessed....they will say "but I work extra hours every day, after school lets out"...in reality it's an "extra" 1-2 hrs per day, so you are at work for 8 hrs per day total, including your free periods, and lunch period...If you use your free period to grade papers, and make lesson plans, your total work time is 40hrs per week, and you make an average of $60k in Ohio in a decent area for working 9 months, so it's the same rate as $75k per year job.

I'm a white person with epilepsy. I can't even drive a car. I had a seizure last night that left two big cuts on my back. The last one left me with 5 staples in my head. Yet, I still have to work the same amount of hours as a healthy adult. I have to walk everywhere. I'm 29 and I feel like I'm 50. I've lived in rural North and South Carolina all of my life. Open land every f'in where. Imagine walking a mile for every hour you work a week. I've done it. I have to constantly live under someone else's roof because it's unsafe for me to live alone. Am I privileged?

Excellent point jojo. People all over have different skills either learned or natural. Some people don’t have the initiative to work in higher paid jobs (or even the skills to educate themselves) and don’t care to. A McDonald’s worker can’t expect to make the salary of a lawyer or doctor or engineer etc.

The privilege to inherit wealth doesn’t typically occur until we’re in our 60s or older, if ever. Most of us leave our parents’ home with nothing, work our way up to home ownership after sometimes decades of struggle, struggle to save enough for retirement, battle cancer and other illnesses, and hopefully have kids to carry on the struggle. If our parents have anything left when they die, we might inherit something at that time. How did our “privilege” change anything for us?

They demanded more "pay" because they wanted to go on a " teacher only" summer vacation to a tropical paradice but didn't want to give up some luxury at home to afford it. Mean while we struggled to make ends meet and if the teachers had gotten their way, our taxes would have become unaffordable.

I’m white. My father was schizophrenic. My mom was blind and deaf. Both of them were diagnosed after I was born. My dad would disappear for weeks at a time, We were poor. I remember sleeping around a kerosene heater as ice formed inside our house. I was in the second grade at the time. We lived through the Xenia tornado and the 1978 winter blizzard. hiding from people he thought were out to get him. He was also a big man and known for a violent temper. My mom ended up in a holy roller church, just this side of snake handling, whose pastor told her God would heal her. My brothers and I went to the church and school. I remember teachers there laughing when a graduate killed a gay man for making a pass at him. I’m gay. I grew up in terror of being found out. Skip forward and a decade ago, I got a spinal injury. The vertebrae broke and bits got stuck between the vertebrae and ground everything into a consistency the surgeon described as chicken salad. Every movement felt like I was being cut inside. The company I worked for reduced my hours, but would not reduce my output expectations. So, I had to do more in less time. I tried for a year to keep my job after the surgery, but the pain was too great. Since then, I have had complete strangers, even a doctor at the ER, call me a drug seeker. When I had an exceptionally large kidney stone, the doctor put me on a gurney and filled me up with saline until I pissed it out, no pain meds. An endodoncia performing a root canal, discovered that the tooth’s roots had wrapped around the roots of the neighboring tooth. She had to hammer and chisel it, taking it out in pieces, giving me no more than novacaine because of the laws regarding pain patients. Tell me about “white privilege.” I _dare_ you.

As a teacher, we do work in the summer but it’s all dependent on how you’re contracted. So I’m contracted to work 10 extra days for FFA and conferences. There are some who choose to work in the summer to get their classrooms more organized but that is more personal than anything. Regarding pay, I work for a school who pays very well but it’s a competitive job market. Where I’ve seen the most complaints are from people who don’t want to move which is fine but there are tons of schools that have a lot of vacancies and pay way better. They also talk about wanting to negotiate contracts and they’re already a thing. You elect a teacher or teachers to negotiate contracts.
